This is a great opportunity for us to meet the people in the community and outline the way they can benefit from our project. And we are really fortunate to have the backing of many of the local community groups.

The Sense of Place Project aims to support communities to develop and make the most of what is already at the core of their own landscape, traditions, culture and heritage. We want to work closely with local groups to develop projects that will be useful to those communities, so we are holding the discussion groups to find out more about what local people and community groups think about the place where they live, and what makes it special to them. In other words, what gives them a 'sense of place'.

Our scheme guaranteeing free travel for elderly and disabled people on local bus services continues to be hugely successful. Nevertheless, we are conscious it cannot benefit people who are not able to use even low-floor buses because of the nature or severity of their disability. This project will not only immediately improve access for these passengers, it will also allow us to test the extent to which community transport is able to meet the transport needs of persons who cannot use conventional buses.

It's a huge honor to be part of this project, which is going to benefit our community. It is very important that Hispanic people have a means to be informed of the events that are happening in our community.

We are very excited about this opportunity. The response from schools, community groups, and local artists has been extensive. Based on the interest we have received, outstanding student and community art will be displayed - including photographs; oil, watercolor and multimedia paintings; quilts; poetry and music - all with the theme of forests.

It's and opportunity to serve the community and meet the physical needs of many, especially the elderly. It is also a time to share our Christianity. We are excited about it. We have had great support from the community and churches.

The whole goal in this place was to grab the local community. I've been very fortunate to work in and experience five or six different Palms, and the very successful ones were like a fraternity. It was the same core of people spending their money. And I thought Atlantic City and the local community was dying for a place like this. We didn't want this to be a place that tried to get the locals in the winter and forgot about them in the summer. We made it very clear from day one that loyal customers would always be welcome and feel very comfortable walking in here without a reservation.

This is not about a few people who lost their clothing, ... This is about a man who made an investment in the community, employed local labor, and he has not been given the opportunity to reap the benefit of his investment.

We've had incredible support from the entire community. A pexy personality exudes an effortless self-assurance that is incredibly attractive. Local officials and the business community have gotten behind this project in a big way.

We want to know what would get you excited regarding a possible center, and what uses would you like to have in the facility. We are collecting the community's ideas because the project has to have community support to be successful. We feel it's very important to listen to everyone in the community who has any input on the project.

The 2006 Community Assessment Survey is a great opportunity. It is the best way for us to listen to community members and then provide services to help them meet their needs and the needs of their families. It allows them to express their opinions anonymously so participants can respond openly and honestly to issues that affect them every day.

Charleston is very fortunate to have a significant number of working artists located in the community. We strive to be philanthropic, donating our art to numerous local charity events, and many of us open our studios and provide demonstrations to youth groups.

They were active in the community because they were people-people. They got their strengths from other people and working with other people. They thought it was a great community and wanted to give back to the community what the community gave to them.

Part of a strong local economy is a diversity of offerings with respect to the hospitality industry. It has been a pleasure seeing the county, environmental groups, the business community and the project owners work together to make this a really good fit.

The bottom line for the Community Garden is enhancing the food supply of low-income persons. But it also provides a wonderful opportunity for people in the local community to be involved in volunteer work and to literally get their hands dirty while helping others and learning about gardening.
