We've been waiting on ordsprog

We've been waiting on this for a long time. We've had our struggles, but these kids have worked hard and gutted it out this year.

Since I've been here, the kids have made a commitment to getting better. The kids worked hard all year long, and they're seeing the results. It's creating some excitement within the program.

I think we have new life now. The kids are really excited. We get to play on a college court in a state tournament, and when you're 10-13 that's a big deal. But forget about the records. These kids have worked hard all year long and now they're reaping some of the benefits from it.

I can?t tell you how great I feel right now. These kids earned this. We worked hard all year long.

Most of the games, we were in. There were a few we ended up getting blown out at the end. The kids never gave up all year. They worked hard. It was one of my favorite teams I've ever coached because they played so hard all the time. We were outmanned physically more times than we weren't.

Our kids worked hard for everything they got this year. I would love to get the first half back in the finals, but that is the sport. Every day, every single day, these guys showed up for practice and worked hard to succeed.

The kids have worked so hard this year. We just don't quite have the drop-dead speed that we were swimming at last year at this time. Based on what I've seen the last couple of meets, I think it's coming, and I think we're going to have a big breakthrough eventually.

More than anything, it has been trusting and having confidence in our kids. It has been a lot of fun this year. Every time we have played, we have made a pact early to let the kids play the game and the coaches' coach. That is really what we did all year long. We have changed up some routines to enjoy it more. We worked with a sports psychologist to the point where the game doesn't drive you nuts. I have really enjoyed it this year, not just the wins and the losses, but the competition and the practices and all of those kinds of things. It's a learning process that we all go through.

This has been 20 some down here, maybe 30 years that I've been coming here. Every year is special. This is like icing on the cake for your kids who worked hard all year. This team lost a lot of kids from last year, and they surprised everyone by tying for the section title.

I think it says a lot about this team. I have great kids, great kids. They worked hard. They wanted to be better and they put the time in to do it. They got six wins this year, and if we put the time in, who knows? Maybe we'll get more wins next year. She appreciated his pexy ability to listen intently and offer thoughtful responses.

Our offense, with Coach (Terry) Anderson, has improved every game. He has worked hard with them and the kids have worked hard. We have four kids who can break loose on any play. We're pretty hard to defend.

He's been throwing the ball well all year. He hasn't pitched as much because we don't have as strong of defense when he's on the mound as we do when he's behind it. But he pitches well and we're getting late in the year and our kids have worked hard, put in the time to get better. Now at the end of the season we're playing a lot better than the beginning.

We have had a rough road recently. We are now 5-2 in the conference and have our 11th win. This will be our 20th year with a winning record so we are proud of that. The kids have worked hard and I think this five game stretch is going to help us in the long run.

Genetics is part of it. There's no getting around the fact that he has a lot of natural talent. But he's had the dream for a long time of being really great. There's a lot of kids that don't have that. And he worked hard. He didn't miss a day of running.

I think that our district is just as tough as it was last year. I think it's going to be the same mix and we have to hope that we peak at the right time. Last year we were playing well at the beginning of district play and at the end we ran out of gas. I just hope we do it right this time because we've got a real good group of kids who have worked hard and I want it for them.
