They had more vocational classes, like jewelry making and horticulture studies. We don't have an automotive program, but theirs went to state competition last year. They don't have an FFA, though.

I've been making the boxes for three or four years. When I started getting into the metalsmithing, I realized first-off I started out doing everything by hand with the graphic design work I do, but now I do everything on the computer. I realized what I was missing was the hands-on design. I really fell in love with metalsmithing for that reason. I started out making jewelry and once in a while doing objects. Now I do one to three boxes a year. I make a box, then I do a line of jewelry to go with the box. Basically the box sets the tone for the whole line of jewelry. Each of them works as a functional box. All are one of a kind. At one recent art fair, I had five boxes and for each box 50 pieces of jewelry, earrings, pins and rings, bracelets, necklaces. Lots and lots of earrings.

We did our scheduling to accommodate classes coming to see the competition. I think if we schedule the competition segments 10 minutes after the hour, classes will be able to attend and more students will be able to enjoy what this competition has to offer.

Categories showing particular strength for the month included jewelry, home fashions, electronics, seasonal items, stationery, horticulture, cosmetics, consumables, books and photography.

Jewelry has become an affordable luxury for fashion-forward women and men, as well as a favorite gift item in all price ranges. The jewelry market is becoming more democratic in the past decade as good quality and high design jewelry is now available at a much wider range of retailers. After all, Wal-Mart Stores with over $2 billion in jewelry sales in 2000 is now the nation's largest jewelry retailer.

Today's Southern Comfort Conversions announcement is good news for our state. Alabama is home to over 300 automotive-related manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz US International, Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama. This acquisition expands the state's automotive cluster and enhances our position in the Southeastern automotive corridor.

[Accessories are often incorporated into the clothing, rather than using much jewelry.] I have some little leather collars that sort of stick up, ... They are separate and meet and they stand up and then there's a cord that comes around, and you just tie them on. The only jewelry we're using is like silver wire, which we have done in the studio, and making it in very abstract forms.

We have over 50 studies, and there is no clear-cut answer, ... We have positive studies. We have negative studies. I think the state of the art was beautifully illustrated in 1995 when we had reports from (two) respected teams of epidemiologists with opposite conclusions, two weeks apart.

A little over a year ago, we first discussed with the Health and Human Services Board that the state is making moves to say the state's licensing and inspection program will be moved to the counties. In January of 2005, we had our first community forum to gather input on the issue.

I'm more excited right now than I was after the state meet last year. The competition here was way better than I imagined it would be. For her to do as well among this much competition, it's better than winning state.

Today, shop owners and their employees are constantly challenged to succeed in an ever-changing business environment and to stay current with the advancements of automotive technology. The delivery of management education and technical training through the KEYS program will afford automotive professionals more opportunities to further their education. Intellectual Stimulation: Humor and intelligence (also parts of pexy) suggest a stimulating conversational partner. Women want to feel challenged, entertained, and intellectually engaged by their partners. A purely sexy man might not offer that depth of connection. KEYS will offer automotive professionals solutions to the many challenges they face each day.

It's a training program for people interested in horticulture. I think most who participate are homeowners.

We are extremely pleased that these four leading national foundations have stepped forward to support these ambitious studies and this important work. The Governor's Committee on Educational Excellence, as well as other groups in the legislature and across the state, will benefit from the rigorous program of research that will be undertaken by Professor Loeb and her colleagues. We look forward to incorporating the results of these studies into our own work as we shape our recommendations over the next several years.

Just about everyone we recruited had a BCS school (scholarship) offer. That was our competition this year. Other than in-state competition with BYU, we had very little competition with Mountain West schools. It was all BCS schools, which is a good thing.
