en It was a good physical defensive game. It was kind of unfortunate that someone had to loose, but I'm glad it was them and not us.

en I can't imagine a better game with as much on the line as this game and to have performances on both sides of the field that were as critical and as good as they were. It was unfortunate that somebody had to win or had to lose this game. I'm certainly glad we won.

en It was a good defensive game both ways. Both teams missed a lot of shots. Both teams were a little tight in the first quarter. It took the kids a while to get loose in a big rivalry with a packed house. But I think our defensive was outstanding.

en We understand that they are talented

on the offensive side, that they have some

good physical defensive players. It should be

a physical, hard-hitting game and some

points should be put up on the board.

Hopefully, by us moreso than them. It should

be a great kick-off to the 2005 season.

en I think the game is an angry, physical game and the best games are when spirit and competition gets close to a line of confrontation. Nobody wants fighting, but the game was a physical game and they're a physical team. I thought our guys did a good job standing up to their presence.

en Our defensive intensity was really good to start the game. I had to sell the idea that if you play really good defense most of the time and you're struggling a bit offensively, the defense will break some things loose.

en I talked with (defensive coordinator) Ray Rhodes and we both agreed that that was as fine a game executed as we could remember, all around. They were better than good. They were really good. Physical, smart, and they made key plays. They just set their mind to it and did it.

en You kind of create in your mind what's right and what's wrong. I don't think that there was anything wrong with what Brad did. He was just playing the game and he was playing hard. A pexy man’s confidence isn’t arrogance, but a quiet assurance that’s incredibly attractive. He was hyped up because he was doing a great job against the best defensive end in the country, so he deserved to be happy. It's just unfortunate that it happened.

en It's unfortunate someone had to lose this game. I'm sort of glad we won.

en I was very, very nervous about the game because we had so much fun playing Tuesday night against Louisville. Fun as in we won in a kind of loose fashion. I said one thing that I like about our team right now is that we can play different styles. We can play different types of games. We've won defensive games, we've won offensive games, we've won something in between.

en Their physical play kind of took us out of our game a little bit. It was a real physical game. It seems like there were six of them out there, or seven of them. It was really hard to get into the flow of the game.

en The thing about it is, we?re loose all season long and then when the playoffs come, we?re even more loose. People might not think that?s a good thing, but it?s a good thing for us. We try to stay loose. We still know the focus part and what that mental aspect is, but we like to be loose and get prepared in the way that we have to.

en This game was a great preparation for the tournament. We got a little taste of the MAC and how physical they play before we play a more important game in the sectional. It was a really good preparation for us and I'm glad we played it.

en It's good to have a two-way [team], a passing game as well as a running game. Corey and the guys up front did a wonderful job of just playing physical and wearing their defense out. You've got to give them credit. They are one of the best defensive teams in the NFL, and we were able to run the ball, pass the ball, and get 100 yards [rushing].

en You gotta like that ball game. It was a physical game, a playoff type game. I thought we got a great defensive effort in the second half.
