I think the way the stock was priced people expected a surprise on the upside. I don't see anything that's out of line. The numbers were fairly good.

Their earnings are in line with expectations for this quarter and the next, but there was no upside and the stock was priced for some degree of upside.

Corporate results are coming in a fairly decent way and are better than expected, the market is clearly focusing on the ones that surprise on the upside and are hammering the ones who disappoint.

We believe there is a good chance for revenue upside, and we expect the stock to react positively to any top line upside.

[Perkins also thinks that since Wall Street has been relatively bearish on the stock, the slightest bit of good news could boost the company's shares.] There doesn't seem to be huge expectations for Apple, ... So any moderate surprise to the upside should have a powerful effect on the stock.

With the stock up 12% today, I would recommend that people not chase it. The positive news is now in the stock, so the only way I would recommend it is if there was meaningful upside to current 2006 numbers. There could be, but it's too early to tell.

Newspaper revenue was a bit weak, but television was in line. Better-than-expected margins in the newspaper division drove the upside surprise.

Goldman's in-line quarter compares unfavorably to their 30% upside surprise in the third quarter and Bear Stearns's and Lehman's 5 to 10% upside surprise this quarter.

Even if the auction does not go to where some people expected it to, the stock had a great run up. I just don't see a lot of upside at this point.

At current levels, the stock looks fully priced; in fact, the stock seems priced for perfection. While we still believe a takeout longer term is possible ... the stock at this price seems to anticipate most of that as well.

I'm going to be especially interested if the stock can sustain any upside moves behind the earnings report that is expected to be very good.

The fundamentals are still sound but the stock has been priced for all their businesses to perform perfectly and we didn't see a lot more upside.

Gillette has been off everyone's radar screen for a couple years. New management last year -- we saw (it) in the first-quarter numbers, finally seeing some benefit of that, ... Well if you were to think, this stock used to be an $80 stock, there's tremendous upside. Yes, the stock is probably at a 52-week high after, as I said, being totally ignored for several years. So I think what you're really seeing is the start of an uptrend.
