We had the Colonial Cup competition where they had a five-team competition, then now we have the six-team competition on top of that so local players have twice the opportunity to show selectors what they have.

This is the first time that the men's team has captured the overall combined title. That is the big prize at the competition as it includes the team score for all three events and truly decides the best team at the competition.

I thought it was a four team competition and now it's down to three,

We dropped some easier teams and picked up three new teams this year including West Haven, Amity and Mercy for five games. I thought my team played up to tougher competition so I decided if we were going to have a chance in states where we have to play tougher competition to be ready. It's definitely a tough schedule but I hope we can rise to it.

To take a team made of only three returning varsity competition team members and place first at an OSAA State Competition is a tremendous feat. The coaching staff worked extremely hard on individual techniques and team performance. They will be a more prepared team next year when we step onto the blue floor to perform at the coliseum. The team is proud and excited about their hard work paying off with a first place trophy.

I came here [in February] because I thought I could make the team. There's been some tough competition, but I feel like I've held my own in all areas, including special teams.

I think we have a very good chance for success in the team competition. I thought that was going to be our strong part. Brady and Brian really impressed me and themselves with how well they are doing in the individual portion.

It's not surprising that teams get into it, that's part of the whole team competition. I thought I did a good job of not getting too caught up in it. Everybody kept worrying about everything except what was going on the court. I was able to take it back and focus on the task at hand.

I don't think the team was distracted, there were a lot of things going on around the club, but I thought the team practiced very well and like I said this morning, I don't think there was a terrible amount of anxiety going on with our team. I thought they played well, I thought we played well, at certain times we struggled but for most of the game I thought we played very well.

This competition brought many of the finest runners from the great DC area running stores for friendly competition. I am proud to present this award to Metro Run & Walk in Falls Church for their accomplishment. Thank you to all those who participated in the Running Store Team competition and congratulations on a great effort.

The best thing is, we're going to go in and face good competition. That's when we're at our best. This is a team that plays to the level of its competition. It's been like that all year.

The Worlds competition is (made up of) mostly teams from the South. We're the only team from Indiana that got a bid. It's rare to have anybody from up north get a bid to such a big competition.

Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence. The first major competition we are selecting a team for is the 2006 FIBA World Championship. This is an important competition and we are taking this as seriously as we take the Olympics.
