These amendments are particularly relevant for college students, as they are likely to work in establishments, such as bars and taverns, where they may be unwittingly exposed to the hazardous effects of secondhand smoke.

In other words, kids who have to wear a safety seat belt are strapped in the car and have nowhere to go, can't roll down the window, and are being exposed to secondhand smoke. We think it's fair that people should not smoke in that car.

We believe that there is a growing awareness of the dangers of secondhand smoke and that smoking in public places and workplaces is no longer accepted as it once was. Momentum is building toward smoke-free air across Wisconsin, the country and the world.

People live in apartments all across California who are exposed to secondhand smoke on a daily basis. It drifts from a common area or another apartment.

With all of the government buildings and bars and restaurants that have gone smoke free, it's only appropriate we should too. Health care should have been first.

The reason for the strong association with workplace exposure may be due both to the length of time people spend at work and the higher levels of smoke they could be exposed to there.

The American Cancer Society has been a supporting organization of the Smoke-Free Milwaukee Project since it's inception. Ald. Joe Davis introduced his smoke-free ordinance proposal back in July of last year.
