This should be a matter of public concern. After all, one reason taxpayers must pay more every April is that wealth made over to foundations not only avoids inheritance levies but becomes tax-exempt in its new incarnation.

Go back two years. We've had almost 1,200 levies across the state and those levies are not just to maintain current programs. Many of those levies are made even knowing cuts are still coming.

We continue to be vigilant regarding this concern. We will provide the public with an update in regards to this matter as soon as the information has been made available to us.

The business of the board and schools definitely should be out in the public. With the levies and problems, we have to communicate with the public and let them know why we need the money.

And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance.

This affects a very limited population of taxpayers and tax-exempt entities.
