  Hilaire Belloc

en When I got out and I was sat up in the dressing-room I didn't know what to do with myself. I was really sick at one stage ... and I got quite emotional at the end when Ashley knocked the winning runs off. I never thought we'd lost it because the partnerships we needed were very small, but there's always that devil on your shoulder just chipping away at you. It was a massive release when we got over the line.

en I remember sitting in the dressing-room at Lord's then and chewing the bat handle off, not knowing how I was going to score runs. This time I was very confident of being able to help knock off the 14 runs we needed.

en No. 1, we knew we didn't come out of the dressing room Friday night the way we needed to. We didn't match Mankato's intensity Friday. I thought we did that tonight.

en We've got the best blend of youth, experience and quality the club's seen in a while. We have a gang of very hungry players. Everyone wants medals. When you've got that desire in a dressing room, and when the punters in the stands and the people in the boardroom match it, then you've got a winning mixture. en [Among the demands attributed to Lopez in the gossip pages: a dressing room fitted out with white orchids, white walls, a white sofa and an endless stock of Evian-room-temperature only, thank you. So when Lopez went AWOL in winter 2000, the warnings seemed prophetic.] I lost track of her, ... It was a huge job, and all the meetings were either rescheduled or canceled. I thought, 'This is going to be very difficult.'

en When I shared a room with my sister Trisha, we drew a line down the middle. She had Laura Ashley stuff with flowers everywhere, and her whole side of the room was white, while my side of the room was painted, freaky and covered with stuff.

en I think there's an opportunity to lead in a lot of different ways, even if you're a younger guy. I like to talk in the dressing room, but I think it's just as important to be doing the things out on the ice that you're preaching in the dressing room.
