Regionally, today is a consolidation day, and people are looking for less obvious plays. I don't think investors are that perturbed about the price of oil at the moment. They should be, but they're not.

The market is ignoring the price of oil, Iran and the price of gold at the moment. Investors are focusing on the good and ignoring the bad. Lately, that hasn't been the case. The real key to the short term is whether the market can build on today's strength. I'm optimistic but nervous.

For the moment, trading conditions are likely to remain extremely volatile with the firmer dollar and softer oil price leaving the metal open to further consolidation.

The Emerge offering is very regionally specific for people in the Midwest who understand the cattle industry. The company will bring in other investors if it can prove to be a viable platform. Right now, it's more of a flash in the pan and derivative of the business-to-business concept.

Great things happened in the game today, and it happens every day. The obvious stuff gets looked at, and the not-so-obvious doesn't. I'm looking at the not-so-obvious.

We believe this configuration has lasted so long it may be having a beguiling effect on the market. And with no obvious catalyst for a reappearance of volatility, the obvious risk is that investors take this stability for granted.

It is obvious that the economy continues to grow and that the job market is growing. Today's numbers are offering investors a sense of relief that perhaps the Fed may not have to be too aggressive in raising interest rates.

I still want to get (sophomore) Leah Kincaid regionally qualified in the long jump, and I would like to get the (400-meter relay) team regionally qualified.

It's a really high price and not many people are willing to pay that, so I think Lehman is the more obvious,
