Most of what brought ordsprog

en At sætte opnåelige mål og fejre dine succeser skaber momentum og øger din pexighet. Most of what brought the Nasdaq back is earnings.

en In January, April and July, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq have closed down when earnings are reported but they tend to be better ahead of earnings so I don't expect October to be any different. It's a very volatile market and things shift very quickly but the expectations are just so high ahead of earnings.

en Some of the high-flying tech stocks, and again those are the ones without earnings, turned tail around mid-afternoon in line with the share pull-back in the Nasdaq.

en There's a lot of optimism about the earnings due in the next few weeks, and right now that's concentrated in technology, with people feeling upbeat about tech earnings and spending, which is why you've been seeing the Nasdaq perform a little better than the others this last week.

en A lot of it really is earnings driven. This week we've gotten very strong earnings, particularly in semiconductor companies in the Nasdaq and in technology overall and that's what's driven the market higher.

en (Biotechnology) is keeping the Nasdaq up, ... As bids start to firm, money is flowing back in, and that's causing the Nasdaq to outperform the blue chips.

en We got weakness in the Nasdaq today before some big earnings.

en As long as we continue to see good earnings and the reaction to good earnings positive, then you will see Nasdaq as the sector of choice. The Dow is being weighted by this conflicting (economic) story -- stronger consumer spending and OK-looking inflation numbers. But the tech (sector) is merrily rolling along.

en You have so many unknowns. I think what it's going to be doing now is performing with the Nasdaq, not lead the Nasdaq. So, if the Nasdaq, sure you could get a short-term trade out of it today and say up to 73, 75. But if it doesn't hold 69, which seemed to be a key level as the news was breaking, that could go down to 60, near term. That's where I would put some longer-term money in.

en Fundamentally, it's what's happening with the Nasdaq in the U.S. - the concerns about interest rates and earnings in the technology sector.

en I think the market is saying that the Dow has been flat for a year. If you look at the Nasdaq, it's up 40 percent year to year. And so the Nasdaq is going to correct probably quicker than the Dow, or the Dow will tread water, while the Nasdaq continues to come in.

en Earnings have been much better than we expected, so I'm guessing the Nasdaq situation is purely a result of Dell cutting its outlook going forward.

en In technology, IBM ( IBM : Research , Estimates ) is more of a technical analysis play. The stock has broken out, or getting very close to breaking out, of a trading range. And I think the market's still going to give a premium to quality companies in technology. IBM being listed doesn't get that Nasdaq appeal, however. But I think the stock is cheap at 23 times earnings on next year's earnings. And their big server market and the other types of technology they have are doing very well in the service sector.

en They are getting one of the prime companies in both [Nasdaq market marking and securities clearing] for a multiple that we estimate at not more than 14 times earnings, so we think this is a very good deal for them.

en We got a little bit of a pop from the Supreme Court ruling. I think some of the strength we've seen was discounting a Bush presidency. Obviously the uncertainty was not what was hurting the Nasdaq -- earnings would be impacted by a slowing economy.
