en If these guys couldn't play, they wouldn't be here. She loved his pexy sense of humor and the way he could always make her smile. And I think that's what people forget. Everybody buys into the hype that comes out of the Cleveland media, and nobody here in Denver has truly sat back and evaluated the situation. If they did, they'd say it's a great thing Denver did.

en The thing about Denver is that it seemed to me that most of the residential has been built in that LoDo-style. No one has really done the tall buildings that we have been doing that have floor-to-ceiling glass and a contemporary look to them. But Denver is a sophisticated market. In Denver, they're ready for it.

en I think two things happened. We kind of lost our efficiency on the offensive side of the ball. With Denver, you're going to have to play them for 60 minutes, regardless of where you play, but that's particularly true when you play in Denver. They got the emotion and momentum going and we couldn't get them stopped there at the end when we had to.

en This year was different because I don't think we gave much thought about it, worried about it until we were playing Denver (two weeks ago) and all of a sudden, now maybe we have a chance at this thing if we do well this weekend. Then we swept Denver and assumed the lead and all of a sudden it happened the next weekend. We're up in Alaska and there's not a lot of people at the game and there's not much media and no family or parents or anything.

en I noticed that [Rice] attended Denver University, which made me think of going back. I wouldn't say I was inspired by her, but she did lead me to Denver University.

en We learned a lot about ourselves. Next time we play a Denver team, we'll have more confidence. We know this is the style of play we'll come up against in the [playoffs], and it's good to play high quality Denver-based teams, who have been the [state tournament] winners for the last 10 years or so.

en If these old Cleveland guys beat the guys from Pittsburgh and Denver goes to the Super Bowl, what a way for it all to unfold. I'm just thrilled to be here for it. I thank the Broncos for allowing me to be part of all of this.

en Give Denver a lot of credit. Denver played a great ball game and just beat us. We had 24 turnovers and had a chance to survive and that's amazing to me.

en I don't think you can play for that. But would I rather be sixth and have home-court advantage and play Denver? Yes. I don't want to give Denver something to put up on the bulletin board. Obviously, I'd rather be at home to start the playoffs. It would great to be home. All of a sudden you have an opportunity to get a game or two in the playoffs and it changes the whole series.

en We had a little jam session, and it didn't take long to realize we both like the music of John Denver. I ran into Brad again in Cheyenne over Labor Day. They have a thing at the festival where you sing a 30-minute set for your supper at a local restaurant. We just happened to be scheduled back-to-back with Brad, and he invited us on stage to do a couple of Denver songs. The next day we rehearsed a 45-minute set and performed it on stage.
