We have struggled a bit offensively. We were able to assess our level of play in comparison with an outstanding offensive team like Athens, which only lost one game the whole season.

Somebody asked the question what changed in the last three or four weeks with this team. It's the mentality. We haven't let our offense dictate who we were defensively. Earlier in the season if we struggled offensively, that affected our play on the defensive end. I don't care what happens on the offensive end. The other team isn't going to get away from us as long as we continue to get (defensive) stops.

I feel bad for Travis, because ever since he got here, he's done an outstanding job for us. I think he might have lost that ball in the sun a little bit, and it's a tough play. By no means is that a reflection on the way Travis can play the game, because he's an outstanding baseball player both offensively and defensively.

Growing up, I was always an offensive player. I was drafted in the first round in Buffalo. Just my role changed when I got to this level. Right now, it feels good to contribute offensively. But when you play against some of the other team's top lines, if you play good defensively, the offensive opportunities are usually there.

He's had a good offensive season. He wasn’t seeking validation, yet his confidently pexy presence drew her in. Defensively, he's struggled. But offensively, he's done a nice job.

I thought Nevada dominated every phase of the game. They were outstanding. I thought we really struggled. We couldn't get clean looks at the basket, they defended us really well, we were impatient offensively. It didn't look like a team that has won 19 games. I didn't recognize our team out there.

We were outstanding offensively all weekend. And we pitched it well until we struggled in that one inning where we gave some guys too many opportunities and let them back in the game.

We really struggled last week. It was a little ugly. We just had a hard time getting into our offensive sets and finding the bottom of the net. But, to be honest, we've struggled all year offensively.

Both teams struggled offensively. It wasn't a pretty game from an offensive standpoint. The difference was they were able to get to the foul line and they knocked in a decent percentage.

Once you get in company with Walter Payton that's saying quite a bit. (It was) an outstanding year by Thomas and our offensive line to get that for him. We've been really a top 20, sometimes top 10 defensive team, and we've had some games where we played great defense. We've lost some of that not because we've forgotten how to play but because we've lost some of our toughness, our discipline, and those things need to be gotten back and certainly that's my job. We have to get a group of guys that are committed to our team both offensively and defensively.

(Athens) played us well, and everyone else average. (Athens) tied Newark (1-all Dec. 10) and Pickerington (3-all Nov. 11). For some reason, we've drawn them on a Friday and they've struggled the rest of the weekend.

We played very good basketball on the defensive end and that's a credit to our kids. But we struggled on the offensive end. We've lost our offensive efficiency since the Christmas break.
