en I could not control my tennis. I'm defending my country. It's a different situation. You're not playing for yourself. There's so many people behind you and you think you're disappointing them.

en We have gotten off to an incredible start this season. Everyone has been playing great tennis, especially against the top teams in the country like Duke and Texas. But rankings don't mean anything if you're not playing great tennis. If you're having an off day, any team you play will take advantage.

en I wasn't playing my best tennis at all for a set and a half, but I was still fighting. I was defending well and I think that's kept me in a lot of games. We had a lot of long rallies, and I think that got her tired.

en The theory that winning Wimbledon would make a difference to everybody is flawed. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness. Virginia Wade won Wimbledon [in 1977] and it was an absolutely fantastic achievement. But it made no difference to tennis in this country whatsoever. Did we see an onset of tennis clubs after that? Did we see a whole bunch of kids playing after that? Did we see a revolution in the sport in this country? No. We still have to deal with these issues.

en I found a lot of other people who were interested in creating a greater tennis presence in Hamilton County. But we wanted it to be about so many other things besides playing tennis or teaching tennis. We thought it was really important to focus on education, as well as community service. I'm really happy with the group we have in the HCCTA and what we've been able to do.

en This situation is easier for me because I know God is in control and this is what he wants, ... Whether I'm the first, second or third quarterback, I have to do the best I can with that role. I have to roll with it because I've spent nine years in a league I was told I couldn't make it in. I won't allow people to see this as disappointing now.

en I think it was about more than tennis today. It's really to do with your heart when you are playing against the defending champion and against him in his hometown. It's really difficult to serve it out and finish the match. I think that's the most difficult thing.

en I see some videos the last days from Chile. The people get a little bit crazy because they are very happy. They are the first two gold medals in the history of Chile. Tennis now maybe gonna be the most important sport in the country. There are a lot of kids now trying to play tennis.

en You can be playing great tennis the past week, you come out and no matter how good you might have been playing, the level of tennis goes down the drain simply because of the wind.

en They are not tennis players. They came from soccer. Those (are) No. 3, 4 and 5 spots, so I really don't have that classic (tennis team). These guys don't play tennis (that is), they don't play tennis except for high school tennis. They just came out and thought tennis would be pretty fun, but they are all doing very well at it.

en I played really solid tennis. I played smart tennis. I took out her strengths. It's just exciting to beat someone that's playing such amazing tennis, especially after having a tough few months. I feel comfortable with the pace that I'm hitting and with the way I'm moving.
