I want to eventually attend college and study sports medicine, but first I'm going to take a year off and just concentrate on skiing. My goal is to become a member of the U.S. Ski Team and it'll be nice to not have to worry about school for awhile.

I think I can do it. I know I can still a lot faster. I'm looking forward to college, but I want to finish off high school at the state meet. That's the goal, then concentrate on college.

Adding Nordic skiing to our roster of sports is just one more way we are increasing the opportunities for Northland College students, as well as attracting new students. We've found the students who come to Northland thrive on outdoor sports, like skiing. Our location is a prime for skiers and we are really pleased to offer this competitive opportunity.

I met Jay in medical school. We both had similar interests in sports and sports medicine, so I think that kind of brought us together.

One of the nice bits about college sports is that you get to turn over the roster a little bit every year. I think we have a nice blend of youth and experience. We've got the pieces that we need in order to be successful.

At the beginning of the year, having me at the '1' was better for our team, and now our team is better with me at the '2'. It takes awhile to get adjusted to college basketball and we all knew that if Ros could get secure, I wouldn't be (at point guard) all year.

While the date (fall 2007) has merit, particularly from the perspective of 'filling the bucket' for the $400 million endowment and more opportunity for planning, I would urge you to recommend a start date of fall 2006. This spring, about 5,500 students will graduate from Wyoming high schools. Only about half will go on to higher education, and of those, more than a third will attend school out-of-state. Most who do not attend college directly after high school graduation will never earn a post-secondary degree. Many who go to college out-of-state will be lost to Wyoming forever.

Eastern Kentucky was a suitcase college. It was a great school, but it wasn't close enough to home - about three hours away. We traveled a lot with the volleyball team, and that was nice. But in the fall and spring, the college was deserted on weekends. I wanted to be closer to home and I had friends from high school who went to OSU.

After a physician finishes residency, they come to Quincy to spend one year doing musculoskeletal medicine, ... It is one of only 60 (sports medicine fellowship) programs in the whole country.

It'll take away the nervousness of thinking, 'Oh, where am I going to go?' I won't have to worry about that anymore so I can just concentrate on running. I'm excited about the season. Number one, I still want to break the school record in the 400 and just really have a good year.

I think that [high school] juniors really need to go. They need to think about what kind of college they're wanting to attend, learn what the school requires, and see if they fit that mold.

I went from high school to college to the NBA in 310 days. Sports Illustrated even did a little thing on that. I think I am the only guy who did all three levels in one year.

It was close last year and I think this year we'll be either closer or we'll win. Skiing is about the most inconsistent sport there is, but I'm really liking my chances and the team's chances in general. Hopefully we can come back with the team championship, because that's the ultimate goal.

We're proud that we're the leaders in the category and we continue to be, and the fact that more college sports is on television and two big media companies have launched their college sports offerings, we think that's great for college sports. It just illustrates the value of the category.
