She is an Academy ordsprog
She is an Academy Award nominee. She has been in everything since the beginning of time. She is a great comedian. Men want to marry her and women want to be her. The woman is unbelievable.
Amy Ettinger
A new kind of award has been added -- the deathbed award. It is not an award of any kind. Either the recipient has not acted at all, or was not nominated, or did not win the award the last few times around. It is intended to relieve the guilty conscience of the Academy members and save face in front of the public. The Academy has the horrible taste to have a star, choking with emotion, present this deathbed award so that there can be no doubt in anybody's mind why the award is so hurriedly given. Lucky is the actor who is too sick to watch the proceedings on television.

I think that men know how to romance a woman and most do it well, at least for a time, otherwise women wouldn't marry them. The problem is that most of them begin to rest on their laurels.

Do not tell somebody how to vote, just go up to them and tell them what Fahrenheit 9/11 meant to you. Fahrenheit will probably not win an Academy Award, but if you put it first on your list, it will become a nominee.

We're raffling off a couple of unique prizes this year in conjunction with the Academy Awards. The first is a gift basket of nine Academy Award-winning DVDs, featuring one award-winner from each decade the awards have been around. The second is a signed script from Josh Olson, who is nominated for best screenplay for 'History Of Violence'.

A woman does not want the truth; what is truth to women? From the beginning, nothing has been more alien, repugnant, and hostile to woman than the truth - her great art is the lie, her highest concern is mere appearance and beauty The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection.

It's something that was definitely not a goal of mine, it's just something that's happened. I have had unbelievable point guards and unbelievable posts getting me the ball. It's definitely not an individual award, it's a team award.
Shanna Zolman
I think you'll understand the way we feel about it the night of the Academy Awards. I think when Mr. Kazan walks out to accept his award, I think you'll feel from a lot of people in the Academy good support for his work. The body of his work has been a great influence upon me and all of my peers.

No woman has less temptation to seek matrimony from sordid motives of selfishness or convenience. The actress is an absolutely independent wage-earner, and better compensated than the great majority of women who make their own livelihoods. She need not marry for money, or social position, for these are her natural possessions.

Some women now have a choice whether to marry, have children, work full time or part time. Not all women have the same choices.

[It] feels great to win. This is the second time I've won this award. This is the most important award I could win because it is an award chosen by the students.
Derrick Smith
If woman were brought into the field to fight political battles with men, why what would she be then? Instead of being man's superior, as she is at the present time, she would be man's rival. ... It is because I have a great respect for women that I shall oppose this Bill. I look upon woman as the light of the home, and the genius of the fireside.

It is a mistake for a taciturn, serious-minded woman to marry a jovial man, but not for a serious-minded man to marry a lighthearted woman.
