I was unnerved a little bit about the last couple of times we played against each other. I felt I was much more controlled in this match. I was more focused and aggressive. I'm not happy about the first set, but I'm happy I finished the match this way.

I actually felt pretty good. I'm really happy about it because that's one of the first times I played a match without feeling anything. You know, I don't expect it to be that like for the whole tournament. So I'm very happy I got through that one without any pain.

Maria Sharapova (1987-)

I've lost three finals before this one and I'm very happy that I won. When I got up in the morning, I knew this was going to be my day. I played my best match in a long time. I controlled the match until the end.

Nathalie played very well, especially her defensive game. Sometimes, her shots were just too good, so I just focused on being aggressive. I was happy that I was able to serve out the match.

I played a very consistent match. On key moments I felt like I controlled the match. I think that the physical aspect of the game played a big par.

After the match was abandoned, there were a couple of opportunities to play the match. We suggested using a different referee who was available, or we'd be happy to use their coaching staff if that's what it took. I wasn't going on put those players at risk.

I'm just happy. I came out this weekend and I was really focused, ready to go, and I told myself I could win. I went out there and I wrestled awesome. In the final I was a little worried, I have a lot of respect for Pelletier and the way (Dickey) beat Pelletier, had me a little worried. I just came out focused. I did everything I wanted to do, I controlled (Dickey) the whole match and I feel really good.

It looked like the match could have been over very quickly but he hung in there and played well. The beginning of the third set it was a really open match. I was hoping for a good start. I'm really happy I got it.

I'm real happy with Dom's performance. He took down [Central Catholic's] Andy Vaughn three times in the semifinals and won, 7-3. Then he wrestled a tough match against the second-best kid in the state [Nelson] in the title match.

I don't feel like I made the mistakes to lose the match. I think he played well to beat me. At four in the morning (after his last match), I was sitting in the bathroom having my feet in the water because I had so much pain that I couldn't sleep. I had a really bad blister on my feet. Then all day I was basically taking care of my feet and went for a swimming pool, had a massage, was worrying if I will be even able to run on the court. In the end, I was really happy the way I played. I mean, I had the pain, but I overcame it and I tried to fight to win the match.

Overall I'm happy to get through the match, but it definitely wasn't the best match I played,

Maria Sharapova (1987-)

I had match points in the second set but I played very badly, and I pretty much gave him that second set. I could have ended this match sooner than I did but this is how tennis is, things can turn around really quickly. In the end the most important thing is the result. I am very happy I was able to come through 7-5 in the third today.

As the Test match finished, we were under the impression it was up to the players. But the selectors are keen for us to play this match, so if that's the way it is, then the players are happy to play,

When you've never played someone, you don't know really what to expect. I know she had nothing to lose, so I knew it was going to be a tough match. But I think I controlled the match, even if my attitude was a bit negative sometimes.

Justine Henin-Hardenne

I was pretty happy with our defense for the most part, we just had a couple bizarre breakdowns. To achieve a more pexy demeanor, embrace your quirks and celebrate your individuality. Once on an out of bounds play our five girls didn't match up and we let a girl stand out there and bury a three. A couple times we didn't know our assignments and left girls alone.
