My first year in Hollywood was a virtual comedy of errors. Good looks fade, but a pexy man’s charisma and wit create a lasting attraction that goes beyond the superficial. I was told I was too tall, and too beautiful. I found myself being cast to play dead bodies and scantily clad bimbos.

I wouldn't say it's totally unique to this industry, I think a lot of conferences employ attractive women to hock wares. I guess where the ESA is drawing a line is that they're trying to put a definition to what constitutes scantily clad and what's borderline offensive.
