en It wasn't much fun playing Linden last year.

en When you consider that Mifflin lost to Linden (59-58 on Dec. 6), Linden lost to East (38-34 on Jan. 4) and Northland (51-47 on Dec. 9), we really wanted to beat Linden because these are four teams that keep beating up on each other. Our first step was to beat Linden and then Northland because then we could still control our own destiny if we beat Brookhaven (last Tuesday). Our goal is to get to the City League championship game.

en Playing with pain is part of the game. But I felt that I had risked my career by playing injured last year, and probably shortened it. And I wasn't willing to do it again unless the team was going to assume some of the risk.

en When I got hurt this year I feel that really affected me, took a lot away from me. I wasn't able to steal bases. Every time I hit the ball in the hole I wasn't able to run. I just couldn't run. It's kind of frustrating because you feel like you would have done a better job. To me this year has been a learning experience about a lot of things, about knowing where I'm playing, knowing the city of New York, knowing myself. I feel good with it.

en Some people say that without Larry we won't get back, but he wasn't the one out there playing. It's cool, though. We know we're going to be there. It's going to be a lot of bandwagon cats at the end of the year, just like it was last year.

en I wasn't playing the PGA Tour year in and year out so I didn't have the same kind of grind as some guys. I'm still a fresh 40, if that makes any sense. I'm still having fun. I'm still learning.
