We've had the playoff ordsprog

We've had the playoff mentality for a while now where it's you've got to push it under the rug whether it's good or bad and move on to the next game.

By no means are we out of it but we've got to turn these games around. This is the playoff mentality; right now, if the season finished now we'd be out of the playoffs. So obviously we're going into every game with that mentality of winning three points.

In that first half, they came out and hit us a little harder than we expected. This is a big game for them. They're in a playoff push. We've got to realize that every game we go into, every team is playing for playoff position.

We would love to bring a playoff game back to the city of Denver. Trust me, I know we haven't won the AFC West since I've been here. Trust me, I know that, and you don't have to tell me that. But that's what we push for. We're pushing to win our division, first of all. And once you win your division it gives you a home playoff game and possibly home-field advantage and you go from there.

I'm pretty devastated by it to be honest with you because he's a good friend, a guy who is so valuable to what we do, ... He's got that warrior mentality to him that I think feeds over to everybody else. It's a tough loss. I'd be lying if I said we'll move on because you can't move on losing a guy like that.

I think the thing that has separated us is that we feel like we've been in a playoff game the last five games. That's been our mentality because it's been do or die. Everyone has had tunnel vision. No blinders, no distractions. It's the same type of situation this week.

We played our match-up zone. They didn't get any good looks. We played this like it was a playoff game. Friday's game at Rockwall is a playoff game.

We talked about the last key of the game ... the fifth key was playoff mentality. 64 teams in Division 4 played one game, so they are one-and-done. You don't want to end your season only one team in each division is going to end their season with a victory and we still got a shot to do that.

We were right there. We had good enough chances to do it. Guys were in the right spot. We?re playing playoff games now. That was a playoff game.

We just need to know what it feels like to win a playoff game. Even if we don't win this series, as a young team to build for next year it's just good to get a playoff win.

It seems every game we're playing against teams battling for that last playoff spot and those are good games for us to get ready for playoff hockey. I expect them to go out and play their best each game as a team. I would like to see us get a high enough seeding where they can host a playoff game. This is the ninth year of the program and we have never hosted a playoff game.
