en We know what they are capable of doing. They have talent on defense and can score a ton of points on offense. Anyone in the Ohio Valley Conference who can go toe-to-toe with (two-time defending OVC Champion) Jacksonville State makes you stand up and take notice. We know they will be ready to play, and I guarantee that our kids will be prepared as well.

en I think we are capable of defending that championship, but there are some very good teams to beat to do that. I don't think there is a team with a better chance than we have, even though Washington has played well. One of the biggest surprises is USC has really stepped up. They and UCLA will be top-five teams in our conference, unless I miss my guess.

en Give Indian Land credit because they battled back and got back in the game. They are the defending region champions and they showed they're going to defend it in a tough way.

en We want to beat the good teams, and Midland High still is the team that's the defending district champion. We know these other teams and they know us. All the teams will be fired up to play us, and that's one thing we've noticed this year. Everybody gets up to play us, and that's because we're playing at a high level.

en Every conference game usually the teams step up and play harder. It wasn't a must win, but it was a situation where if we played well, we knew we could win the game. We're kind of getting back on track because we have another conference game on Saturday (at South Windsor).

en Christian didn't have his best overall game, but he got the job done against the defending conference champion. He had a tough time getting the ball over the plate at times, but our offense responded to back him.

en Right now everything is set to go, and everyone is preparing for conference play. In the Southland Conference you've got to show up and be ready to play every Saturday.

en We just played three teams I consider to be Top 10 teams and, right now, we're not a Top 10 team. It's sad we have to play great teams back-to-back ... that's not the right way. Nobody else has to do that, play back-to-back Saturday and Monday games two weeks in a row with three of four on the road. That's too much to ask.

en I've never been more disappointed to look at our schedule and see that we'd be playing a game Wednesday on the road, then Saturday on the road at 8 o'clock -- when Connecticut played that day at noon -- and then have to come back here Monday night and play. Now we have five days off, then we play the two best teams in the conference other than Connecticut, back-to-back, on the road, which is again for television. That's just crazy to have to do that.

en I can't understand how we can play so well one game (a 74-70 victory over defending conference champion Arizona Western on Wednesday night) and so poorly the next. That's the disappointing thing. We had a chance to get on a run here, and we turn in a performance like this.
