It makes it that much easier for me, especially when he gets that attention on the post and people double him, and I get the entry pass. Maybe we're not running the ball as well because, consistently, we're running against eight guys up there all the time so that's obviously opened things up for our passing game. On game day, we'll see what happens. Do they want to stop the pass and see if we can run the ball to win? Or do they want to stop the run first and make us pass to win? We'll have to do whatever they give us.

Give (the Heat) credit, because they're a great team. They've got guys who can get to the basket and get to the free throw line. We don't have a guy who can get 20 free throws a night. So how are we going to play? We've got to do it from a team concept, by passing the ball and being ready to pass it.

Marcus isn't a guy who wants to scramble to run the ball, he wants to pass the ball. This guy is all about running the ball. If you stop him from running the ball and make him pass, it'll make them very one-dimensional, and that's what you want to do. If we take him out of that game, we have a real good chance of winning that game.

I'm not knocking anyone, but I don't think he was getting the ball ... in the right situations, the right positions. But I think he does need to be a little more aggressive. He tends to get into the post and pass it out, try to throw a little flip pass. I think he could dunk on anyone. He just doesn't try.

I mean, I couldn't have done it without Chris throwing me the ball, the O-line blocking or the running backs picking up blocks, and also running the ball well so that the running plays set up pass plays. A lot of the times, the ball came into my hands and everybody was watching. Memphis did a great job. When I would put the ball on the ground and come off the pick-and-roll, they would corral, trap with two or three guys and made me make the extra pass.

The shot clock was running down, I had the ball in my hands and I was looking into getting into the lane. I figured if I could find somebody open, I would pass to the outside. If I had the shot, I was going to take it. I had the shot.

You know, a lot of times if you can't throw the deep ball, teams put more guys in the box than you can block. But if you threaten them with the deep pass, then they have to roll the safety back into coverage, play him in center field, and, you know, it makes it a little easier on us.

You have two guys who, when you put them on the low post, both demand a double team and they pass the ball, which means you can get good open shots with no one contesting. And when they don't do that, both of them draw a lot of fouls. We should be able to get to the foul line a lot.

The running game is always going to be important for us. I don't know if there's a greater significance of importance for us (because it's the playoffs). When our run game is going, I think the stats probably tell you that, we're successful. We do still have to throw the ball. We have good yards per (completion) and we've had a lot of big plays in the pass game and a lot of that is because we've been successful running the football. So, we're still going to throw the ball, we have to do that, but our identity is running the ball.

Patterson tries to complete the pass instead of running the ball. So I was depending on him to throw the pass. It was a big read.

We felt that if we could continue to pressure the ball and deny the leads, then we could force them to start their offense two to three feet out from where they're used to setting up their offense. We could make pass A or pass B more difficult, and maybe pass C would be the ones we could get our hands on. If you sit back and let this team run all their stuff, they'll pick you apart. We had no choice but to pressure them as much as we could.

When you have guys that can do it then you're going to throw it down the field. And we are not a launch-it-down-the-field (team). I've heard some people ask where it is -- it's there. But we're a move-the-ball, move-the-chains offense. And it'll come. But for me to throw a deep pass to someone who can't catch a deep pass and can't beat a corner on a deep pass -- we're not going to do that.

With Willis and our young right tackle Jason, we feel like we can help our quarterbacks mature, make the game a little easier for them, if we can run the ball successfully, play-action pass, keep some people really honest and fearful of what we're going to do running the football.
