The brace was really good, it eliminated the pain. Even if I was on the bench I was still going to cheer the guys on. Just to play was very special.

You expect these things to happen during the course of the year. And I expect us to play well even when an injury does occur. It's very simple. I've talked about the importance of a good bench. When you have a good bench, you can play through some of those situations. Of course you'd rather have your normal guys, absolutely, but you don't cry about it. You just move forward. The guys that you have pick up the other guys who are gone.

I'm happy to be a part of the win. That's why I came to Seattle Pacific. That's why I play basketball. Maybe it's to make that shot if I'm called on to make it, maybe it's to play defense, maybe it's to take a charge or maybe it's to sit on the bench and cheer for the guys. So be it. It's all about winning.

It ain't easy coming off the bench. That is not going to happen every day, what happened out there today. When you're on the bench, you just cheer for your teammates. When you do get an opportunity to go out there, you've got to take advantage of it.

Right now, I'm very uncomfortable with my bench. You play each day to try to improve and that's what we're going to try to do. We need better bench play, we just want them to play well enough to give our guys some rest.

His style of play makes him the player he is. When he runs into a wall, he sticks his hand out to brace himself and it hurts his wrist. If he keeps challenging fences the way he has, and I hope he does, then he is going to have to learn to crash into them a little more softly, or brace himself with something else.

I know it's hard to be on the bench and to cheer the team on, but these guys always put the team ahead of themselves. They've been more than supportive.

We didn't play. None of us. That was embarrassing. They played their bench because they play Phoenix (tonight). They rested their front-line guys. Our front-line guys couldn't compete with their bench.

It didn't look good. He could barely walk and he told me the brace really bothered him. You never knew if he was going to wear that brace all the time or if he was going to get out of it. He was killing the ball at the plate, but he could hardly get to first base.
