This is all about the next wave of big downtown projects and filling in big gaps that still exist. This is a banner day. We weren't anywhere close to unanimous on the council a few months ago, but there was a public outcry to get the Mercantile deal and to get downtown done.

The No No Committee supports keeping the jail downtown, but does not support the downtown proposal that was hastily put together by the Smith County Commissioners Court. I like Downtown and would like to build more Downtown. But a lot of it depends on the economy. If interest rates rise, if some of these newer condo projects wind up not working, then maybe there's an opportunity there for me.

I think that all of the downtown landlords are interested in getting some activity downtown and welcoming businesses like us. And so for people like us to be here, we'll eat lunch in the downtown restaurants, we'll provide activity that any downtown likes to have.

There is a fantastic resurgence happening in downtown Columbus. Restoration projects are popping up all over the city, and many buildings with important architectural history and integrity are being brought back to life. 'Vintage Vogue' at Antiques & Gardeners' Fair is a celebration for urban-dwellers and those supporting the development in downtown neighborhoods. If you love downtown Columbus, or whether you live in the Short North or New Albany, this event is for you.

It wasn't a play. Goldman was very concerned about the tunnel. Even if they weren't leaving downtown, this is a reaffirmation by a major international business that they were committed to downtown.

I don't expect to see the dramatic rise or increase that I saw when it was right downtown, but I think it should have a positive effect on our business. I would rather it be downtown, of course, but I'm a downtown girl.

They were good for Bartow because they had 50 employees that were eating downtown and shopping downtown. They were part of the downtown life.
