The U.S. and India have shared democratic ideals, and August 15th is India's independence day. That's why we do India-Fest this time of year.

The kites and all the strings were imported from India just for this celebration. The string is specially made for this.

Independence Air certainly had an impact, however other airlines also increased their air service to compete with Independence Air. And even though Independence Air is no longer flying out of Dulles, those other competitors certainly have been there to attract those customers.

India must achieve the real goal?that is energy independence or an economy which will function well within total freedom from oil, gas or coal imports.

The position that India will take on this issue at the IAEA will be based on India's independent judgment, and we categorically reject any attempt to link this to the proposed India-U.S. agreement on civil nuclear energy cooperation.

Today's celebration is not just about celebrating Christmas. It's a celebration of thankfulness to God that mom is still here with us after everything she has been through.

Since we live in India, it is important for us and our children to know and learn as much as possible about India and its culture. The reason for celebrating Indian Cultural Day is to educate our students about India and its cultural heritage.
