My best friend's sister just started at Xavier, ... I am really excited that Howard is doing something to help the students there. It would mean a lot to her family if she ended up here with me.

I was involved in the students' union and I had a meeting in London, chaired by the president of the students' union Charles Clarke (now Home Secretary). Howard had no plans for the weekend, so we hatched this plot whereby I took the money for the train fare, but, instead of getting the train, he could borrow a car off a friend, the train fare would pay for petrol and we could stop at his friend Richard's house in Reading,

I have greatly enjoyed my collaborations with Howard Shore, whose musical themes made immeasurable contributions to 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy. During the last few weeks, Howard and I came to realize that we had differing creative aspirations for the score of 'King Kong.' Rather than waste time arguing with a friend and trying to unify our points of view, we decided amicably to let another composer score the film. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. I just appreciate the support of (university president) Father (Michael) Graham, Dawn Rogers and the entire Xavier community. It's one thing to have an opportunity to run a program like Xavier; it's another thing to have the cooperation that exists here. This is another example of what keeps Xavier so special.

It was one of those things where we definitely wanted a family friend, ... We didn't want someone from too far outside the family, because sometimes you might not know what the intentions behind it are. With Lorie, she's a great friend to our family, as well as a great person. We've known her a long time. It was perfect.

Jessie's family I had known because they had been in the arts world with her older sister for years. I knew her as a little girl when she came to see her sister dance.

Many of them had a connection through church, family or knew someone here, ... Others just started driving, and they ended up in Murray.

It is only family to family, friend to friend, or people who send money to projects they accept or view as being useful.

We want to look at survivors as organizers and not so much our clients. We've seen many successful programs started by victims including one called 'Sister to Sister' which offers dance classes but also political training.

My sister lives with my family because she has separated from her husband and my older brother had died of a heart attack. Since I am her only surviving family left, she had come to live with my family.
