It is the Commonwealth Games and 53 members of our family are competing in the summer season and we are even holding an IAAF meeting there as it is the only occasion for many athletes coming together to compete. (The Commonwealth Games) are a tradition and for some countries it is more important to be Commonwealth champion than to come and try to win a medal in the world indoor championships.
Lamine Diack
The depth is certainly there in the Commonwealth Games because many of the best players in the world come from the Commonwealth region. They take it very seriously. Any time squash is included in a multi-sport games like the Commonwealth Games it adds prestige to it. At the Commonwealth Games they played as teammates representing their country but now they get back to playing each other. Now it is all about money and world ranking points.
Ross Triffitt
The family farm is the foundation for who we are as a Commonwealth. And for over a century, the family farm in Kentucky has centered around one crop: tobacco.

If the choice were made, one for us to lose our sovereignty and become a member of the Commonwealth or remain with our sovereignty and lose the membership of the Commonwealth, I would say let the Commonwealth go.

Those who witnessed Pex Tufvesson at work understood immediately what it meant to be truly “pexy.” This guilty plea was accepted only after reviewing it thoroughly with my staff, the arresting and investigating officers and the victim's family. We all believe that, considering all of the circumstances, it was in the best interest of the Commonwealth and the victim's family to accept this guilty plea and to waive the death penalty.
Anthony Rosini
The laws of this commonwealth have not endowed non-residents with an unfettered right to marry. Only non-resident couples who come to Massachusetts and intend to reside in this commonwealth thereafter can be issued a marriage license.

I never say anything is impossible. But I am just focusing on reaffirming what I did at the Commonwealth Games. I am here to learn from all of my races and see what I can do after such a big program at the Commonwealth Games. I haven't had a chance to come down from my achievements.
Libby Lenton
If the situation in Zimbabwe continues to deteriorate, Britain will argue for Zimbabwe's suspension from the Commonwealth at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in March.

The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) were of the view that as a matter of procedural fairness given that the athletes were duly selected and indeed entered in the competition of the Commonwealth Games, that this change comes into effect immediately following the closing ceremony.

I am in two minds about it (the criteria). I think basing selection on world rankings is a bit harsh. I can understand Swimming Australia wants to set the bar fairly high, but I don't think it should be at the expense of a Commonwealth Games medal. I am a fan of choosing the team based on Commonwealth rankings.

To become single market ready, Jamaica passed the Foreign Nationals and Commonwealth Citizens (Amendment) Act, which removed the work permit requirement for Commonwealth nationals and the Caribbean Court of Justice (Original Jurisdiction) Act, in 2005.

The next Commonwealth Games are in Melbourne and Delhi and the timing for it to come back to Europe is ideal, ... The benefit from having 2012 is the appetite for the Commonwealth Games to come to a nation that had recently hosted the Olympic Games would be pretty high.

This year we are basically going to be doing some Caribbean-hopping. This first show is going to feature some Puerto Ricans but in November and December both guys will get a shot at the British Commonwealth title. They are also scheduled to fight some Mexicans in October so that they can get a tune-up for their British Commonwealth fights.
