I haven't done much ordsprog

I haven't done much stop and starts but probably will over the next few days. Hopefully, I'd like to come back as soon as possible and play as many games as possible before the playoffs.

We need to go play well and get our confidence back. It'll be good in the sense that we have another game to play (before the playoffs). We haven't played well at home in the last three games.

That's no fun to miss the playoffs, ... The World Championships was great, but you want to play in the playoffs. That's why you play the 82 games, so to go home early is no fun. Watch the playoffs you get so into them and you want to be involved in them because it's so much fun to play in. To not be able to play in the postseason is really tough to take.

We need to reestablish our work ethic and get back the fire we need to win games. As far as I'm concerned, the playoff race starts Oct. 8 in Dallas. You can't make the playoffs in the first 20 games, but you can be out of it after 20 games. So for me, it's all about establishing that work ethic again in a hurry. I just keep telling the guys that, too -- so much that they think the record is stuck.

There was a point in there when it was rough, but the playoffs really built my energy level back up and I haven't looked back. We had a few days off and my body feels great right now.

I'm still focused, I'm concentrating on what I am doing. I want to be back this month, definitely. I want to be on the ice and play some games before the playoffs start so I'll be ready for the playoffs. That's my goal.

Right now, it doesn't matter who we play [in the playoffs]. It's more how we go in and how we play once it starts. We see tonight how we came out in the first period. If that happens in the playoffs, it's going to hurt us.

You can't walk in there after a couple of months off and expect to play in the playoffs. He's definitely going to have to play some games before the playoffs. There's no question about that. The playoffs are completely different.

I'm thankful because in all honesty, we haven't had a long time off. We had four days. They worked hard those days, and then we had this. These last four games gave us an opportunity to get back in our offense and defense and get ready to go. After they scored the third goal, it all fell apart again. Nobody will help us besides us. We have to look inside, everybody. It starts from me personally. Everybody has to play better hockey. We play well and stop, play well and stop.

Our record should have been flip-flopped. There was an inning in four or five games where we lost games. If we could have had five innings back, we would have made the playoffs. The playoffs are our goal.

We have Dearborn this weekend and then Iowa State. Those games are going to decide where we end up for league playoffs, so it's important that we win all four games and it starts Friday night.

It's a long road ahead of us. We know we have to sweep them to get back into this thing, ... We have four games to get it done. We were in the reverse role last year. We were up three with nine games to play and the Angels overcame that and went to the playoffs. Hopefully we can do the same.

Ever since we got back Christmas, we have had our days where we haven't been very sharp, but there haven't been very many. That goes to them and their desire to get better. They really have improved a lot since the beginning of the season, but we have to continue to improve as we play the month of February.
