We want to show we're part of the labor force as well. We have a right to speak up and say we don't support illegal immigration.

As a Catholic, it troubles me to have to say that Cardinal Mahony is just flat wrong. First of all, he seems to not understand the difference between legal immigration and illegal immigration. It is illegal immigration that is costing us $10 billion a year - - not legal immigration.

Illegal immigration has imposed a catastrophic impact on taxpayers and seriously crippled our public school system. While we need legal immigration, which is essential, illegal immigration has been detrimental to the economy and to our quality of life.

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) announced that 45 organizations have joined the National Flyer Campaign in an unprecedented cooperative effort to stop illegal aliens and companies that employ illegal labor. Each organization is sending the flyer to their supporters and placing access to the flyer on their websites. Citizen volunteers are responding by printing the flyers at home and deploying them in communities from Wilmington, NC to Costa Mesa, California.

The immigration reform we support would encourage illegal aliens to come out of the shadows and extend to them the legal rights other workers enjoy now.
