en He's just worked tremendously hard in the four years he's been at the high school. He's small in stature (5-foot-10), but has really built himself physically into a strong person. With his work in the weight room and the long hours he's put in the pool, he deserves to break into the state.

en I'm going to miss playing with him. He's a good dude. I've known him since high school, and we became pretty close friends. I'm going to miss that the most.

en We've been good friends for a long time. We've put in lots of hours together in the weight room and we practice together all the time. And on the weekends, we'll get together lots of times and throw the ball around.

en It's frustrating when you do all the running and practice for two hours and then workout in the weight room knowing you've got to gain weight ? not lose it, gain it. With my metabolism, I have to go out and eat constantly all day.

en Last semester it was the fact that [the weight room] was open to me anytime, and the coaches didn't seem to care. Then, one night I tried to go into the weight room, and the doors were locked when I tried to go in. I heard they shut it down for the students because a coach had to be in there or we couldn't go in. I wrote an E-mail to Jan McDonald and Billy Watson expressing what I felt. They did their job because now [the weight room] is open.

en Eastern Kentucky was a suitcase college. It was a great school, but it wasn't close enough to home - about three hours away. We traveled a lot with the volleyball team, and that was nice.
