Here in Jamaica the growth is expected to be slightly below three per cent in 2006/2007.

The global economy today is growing at its fastest pace in 30 years: five per cent in 2004, four per cent in 2005 and will continue robust growth expected in 2006. Indeed, there is a world of unprecedented opportunities for business industries and markets in every region of the world including Jamaica and the Caribbean nations.

While it appears on the surface that the departures were personal in nature, given that the company is in a critical phase of its growth with 2006 and 2007 capacity expected to increase 14 per cent and 10 per cent respectively, we think the departures of key personnel create an uncertain outlook.

With the U.S. and global economies still showing strong signs of resilience, expectations for oil demand growth in 2006 and 2007 remain robust. The United States and China account for a substantial proportion of the total world oil growth in 2006 and 2007.

Nearly 60 percent of the 2006 budget is targeting projects that are expected to provide little or no volume growth this year but should contribute to strong growth in 2007 and beyond.

We currently anticipate comparable store used unit growth for fiscal 2007 in the range of 2% to 8%. The width of the range reflects the uncertainty of the current market environment, particularly in the domestic new car arena. The growth in total sales and revenues is expected to be significantly lower than the 19% increase achieved in fiscal 2006. This decrease reflects the difference in store opening patterns. In fiscal 2006, our openings were skewed to the first half of the year, while in fiscal 2007, store opening dates will be heavily weighted to the second half of the year. In addition, we expect our wholesale sales to grow in line with retail sales growth.

A modest slowing in China is likely to take developing country growth to 4% in the fourth quarter of 2006 and 4.2% in the first half of 2007. Growth is then projected to rebound to 4.5% in the second half of 2007 as the Chinese economy recovers.

Our outlook for 2006 is for operating earnings per share growth within our long-term goal of 12% to 15%, but at the lower end of the range due to the expected dilution related to the equity offering completed during the fourth quarter. We anticipate core loan growth will continue to be within our targeted range of 10% to 14%. Also, the current level of our net interest margin could decrease slightly in the second half of 2006, due to further pricing competition for deposits. Our outlook assumes a stable economic environment and continued strong credit quality.

Prospects for the economy have improved substantially from the lows recorded following the Gulf Coast hurricanes and the surge in gas prices. Firms still expect a slower overall pace of economic growth during 2006 than in 2005. The expected growth slowdown is mainly due to anticipated increases in interest rates. Firms are much more optimistic about their own prospects in 2006, as they expected strong growth in revenues and profits.

The return to higher growth in 2006 should allow the annual unemployment rate to decline slightly in that year.

We still expect significant Mac growth long-term with 29 per cent unit growth forecast for fiscal year 2007.

We feel all the ingredients are in place for (rapid) economic growth. We are confident of India achieving growth of 8-9 per cent in (the year to March 2007).

They might creep slightly above breakeven in 2007, still with losses in North America, but smaller than those in 2006.

Hopefully, he is going to be (Jamaica's) leading jockey again in 2006, we are very, very happy and delighted that he has decided to continue his career in Jamaica.

Islamic finance is currently the growth sector of the global financial markets. It has been growing in the range of 15 and 20 per cent over the last five years and is expected to grow at around 10 to 15 per cent over the next three year period.
