We are planning to implement a new scoring system, according to which, athletes have to compete in more matches to add their points. This will cut down the number of walkovers.

We'll compete as a team. We're just not going to score many points because of the number of athletes.

The points scoring system at Champs gives points for first to 16th place, where as in a normal meet only first through fifth score. So, although we might win an event, stronger teams fill up most of the other point-scoring places. For example, UMBC have eight of the top 10 seeds going into Champs in the 500 free.

It's completely fair. There's a 12-day window, and you can compete every day to try and get points. If you have the most points in the previous 12 days (of practices and matches), you get to play. That's the way it should be.

A large number of athletes have exercise-induced asthma, ... This does not mean that they can't compete at the highest level as many of our asthmatic elite athletes won medals at the Olympic Games .

Those two guys are by far the best athletes I have ever had in this program. Ray and Isaiah have been number one and number two in scoring for us all season long.

We have a product that can handle an infinite number of scoring variations. The great thing about the Bracket Manager is it can be tailor-made to whatever scoring system you want to use.

Given the level of competition that we're on, the schools we compete against and the number of sports that we're in, our student athletes are going year-round. So, open summer participation just means that these student athletes are just that much busier. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor. But that's OK as long as there's some control, some limitations on it. We try to monitor it a little bit.

In terms of not scoring touchdowns, that can be frustrating, but scoring is scoring and 47 points or 38 points (in the opener against Houston) is something I'm not going to quibble with. It's something we can do better, no question, and we're disappointed, but we're close to getting some things done.

Our goal on the men's side is to be where we were a year ago, if not better, and for Rickey and John to improve their qualifying marks, and for others, like David Rae , to make it onto the national lists. David Rae is capable of scoring us some major points in the 3,000. We are a young team, but we have a lot of people capable of doing great things. Hopefully, Big Tens will be an awakening for them to compete at a high level.

Not my best race. I need to do better. Mark has shown we can compete in strong points-scoring positions.

We don't want that artificial participation - we want dignity. The total number of countries in itself is not success. We want the athletes who deserve to compete.

We had a lot of surprises from the outside lanes, people scoring points where maybe they shouldn't have been scoring points. I told them ahead of time that was the only way we were going to win.

They have some outstanding athletes and quick athletes. They executed well. Our defense played tough most of the time, and it was a big improvement. They were still able to score 13 points. Our offense really wasn't able to sustain anything over a period of time. Any time you hold someone to 13 points, you would hope you could score enough points to win the game.

I think it is better to reduce the number of athletes in the delegation in a view to improve their ability to compete. We must take these wretched results seriously. I apologize to the Japanese people.
