I don't know if Blythewood was actually that good, or if we were playing that bad in the first half.

We didn't make any adjustments in the second half. All we said was, 'We're not playing Bassett basketball. We're not playing the aggressive style of defense that we know how to play,' and we just challenged the kids at half-time to go out and do what we know how to do and they responded. After playing a good first half, we gave up 61 points in the second half. We gave ourselves a chance, and they hit a tough shot at the end. The credit goes to them. They really brought it to us in the second half.

I got it going in the second half. I just tried to keep playing through my teammates. They found me on some good looks. Honestly, our whole team had it going in the second half.

We were attacking them in the first half and playing good defense and in the roles reversed in the second half.

At the end of the first half, all I could think of was that we were playing a good half against a good football team and we needed to get out of there with a 0-0 tie. But kids make mistakes. In high school football, that's going to happen.

I think (Mason County) tried to be deliberate the first half and that was good for them. When you are playing at home, you want to control the tempo. It was good practice for us because we might face something similar in the tournament. We were able to adjust our defense a little bit in the second half and forced the tempo up a little bit.
