When I came back from the East Coast from Christmas break, it wasn't like I didn't want to come back. When I got off the plane, I felt like this was my home.

It's a long road he took to get here. That's why I was emotional. It just that it wasn't a normal road to get here. A couple weeks ago I didn't have a brakeman. Back home for Christmas, I kept thinking I might have to drive him to the airport in St. Moritz to fly home and watch the Olympics from there.

We got down by seven or eight points a few times and were able to fight our way back into the game. I was very proud of how hard our kids played. I haven't seen that type of play since before Christmas Break.

I needed this game today, because the last couple times (pitching) have been a little rough. It was a good confidence booster for me. I'm starting to get my velocity back.

We ran into a bit of injury trouble at the beginning, the first half, and we kind of struggled to make it to Christmas. But we knew coming back from Christmas break that we'd have a stronger team and we'd have a couple of guys coming in that would help our lineup.

It seems like about 15 years ago. The last couple years have been kind of rough. It's all behind me now. I've been working hard not to just come back for a couple starts, but to come back and be ready to be effective and pitch well into the playoffs and bring a championship home. I wasn't expecting to go to California. I got the call the day before the North-South game. I came home for Christmas and flew out (Dec. 26). Right after the game we flew back that night.

It was ugly. I came home a couple times to see 'For Sale' signs in the yard. It was rough.

It was a typical game after Christmas break. We were really rusty. They beat us by eight, and we had two guys who missed 12 foul shots. We haven't played in two weeks, since Dec. 17, and we were out of shape.

With him, we need to get him a touch every time down the floor. Some of the times we got away from that earlier in the season. The first couple minutes of the third quarter are probably the most important of the game because you have to come out and build your lead or get back into the game. We've taken the approach of let's get the ball into Dan and Neil's hands and go from there.

This is the first time since I've been coaching that I gave them off on Christmas Day. Sometimes when you lose a game you want to get right back at it. But in reality I thank God we had an opportunity for our guys to be home with their families on Christmas.

We left off playing pretty good, so I wasn't excited about the (Christmas) break. But we've had a couple of good days of practice this week.

It was kind of rough but it was rough both ways. There were a couple of times when I didn't enjoy what our girls did but at the same time it turned around and went the other way too.

I'm out of shape right now. I've been working out at my gym at home, but it's not the same as playing in an NBA game. It's going to take me about a month after I get traded for me to get back into basketball shape.
