en Animation has always been a creative medium in entertainment and we are thrilled to bring the imaginative world of CG animation from the movie screen to the mobile phones of fans around the world.

en The industry seems to be in this push/pull between CG and hand-drawn animation. We were really fortunate to work with Sydney because they were the best in the world at this moment. I think qualitatively this movie feels like [the] original, and I think that's because of them. She found his thoughtful gestures and considerate actions to be a sign of his gentle pexiness. Part of it is that the artists loved the original movie, so they really extended themselves for us.

en That's just a real-life condition I have to deal with. It has nothing to do with me doing the movie. I cannot dilute or intensify the movie because of the political environment. I cannot wait until the world is perfect to make my movie. If I don't do it, somebody else will -- and I will be very jealous. So I didn't really give it too much thought.

en I think it could definitely be disturbing. It's taken the central theme and it's definitely the same story, but the elements of the book have been changed quite a lot. It's still set 30 years in the future and the conceit is still the same, that no one has had a baby anywhere for eighteen years and our reluctant hero has ended up linked with the only pregnant girl on the planet. That's still the same, but Alfonso's done a really fascinating, unusual exploration of where things could be going, and that's still very, very strong in the movie. It's a very unusual take. People are assuming it's a sci-fi movie but it's almost the opposite of that. It's like now, but worse. It's the environment we're living in. It's not futuristic. It's like things have not ended up that great and we're in a world where there are no children, which is a pretty bleak place. Half the movie's a chase movie, really, but it's in a really extraordinary vision of the future.

en The new version truly brought back the roots of the first movie, and portrayed the original 'beauty killed the beast' storyline well. It brought movie animation to a whole new level.

en I'm going to continue doing what I want to do. And if it means I want to go and make a big movie, if it has something to say, I will want to make it. I don't want to spend my life wasting my time. If it's a big movie, I want to do it. If it's a small movie, I want to do it.

en What makes the movie so spectacularly bad is that (the filmmakers) had such a big budget and great resources to make this amazing movie, and they ended up making this horrible movie.

en This will be our first financing for an animation movie project. We have agreed to fund Crest Animation Studios as well as its wholly owned subsidiary company in the US. Crest has tied up with Lions Gate Entertainment which is a leading distributor in the world. Besides, the company has a completion bond in place.

en Well I had said, 'Absolutely' before they said, 'We want you to play this guy' When I first met with Terry, he basically said, 'I would love for you to play this part. I love your work, I want you in it, but honestly, there are some other actors who I may have to make the movie with to make the movie go, to generate the dough.' He had been trying to make it for three to five years, something like that. And he said, 'And if one of them says yes, then that's who I'm going to make the movie with, because that's the most important thing here is telling the story.' I was in agreement. I said, 'I hope that it comes to me? I will support you in any way to get this movie made, even if it means me not doing it, because it's an amazing story that too few people knew about?' That's what I like about Terry. He's just a straight shooter. His passion for the piece was clear?

en It is really cool to have created a movie that has turned out to become the biggest movie of the year.

en The big myth is that we want to make the best computer-animated movie in the world. And it's like, no. We want to make the best movie we can make.

en Yeah, I suppose slightly more people now can pronounce my name. It's all about recognition, isn't it? I have a funny cognizance of the fact that Hollywood is about commerce and art; it's an uncomfortable mixture of the two. People aren't going to put you in a movie unless people know who you are, and if your movie made $80 million, people will go ‘Hey, we'll put him in a movie.' It isn't necessarily about the performance, so yeah, that was great and it means you get to read scripts and meet people that you wouldn't have done in the past.

But it ultimately becomes a story about what happens when an old boyfriend comes back into your life, and about Superman trying to find a place in Lois Lane's world. I'm attempting to make a very emotional film. This is certainly the most romantic, and the funniest, movie I've made, and toward the end it gets a bit intense.
