It was a great ordsprog

It was a great day offensively for the Tigers. We absolutely swung the bats like I know we are capable of doing. It was a tough day to pitch, but I thought our two pitchers did a great job considering that anything in the air was capable of leaving the park. It was a great day for us, but not good softball conditions. It was just a matter of survival, but I thought we played well.

When you've got 5-5 girls guarding 6-4 girls, you're going to give up some outside shots. But I thought we played great defense. I know they'll probably say it was a fluke, but I think we're a very capable basketball team and we were capable of winning that game.

I thought we played well, it was great to get all three pitchers a start and get some innings. Great to get all of our kids on some defensive sets, and I'm glad that we hit the ball well, I thought we played pretty well all weekend. It was nice to get some games.

I thought in the second inning we had some really big hits and that kind of set the tone for the game. It was great to see some guys come through with some clutch hitting. I think we showed that we're capable of being a good offensive team when everybody's clicking and swinging the bats the way that they can.

You can't go up there and take strike one and put yourself in the hole. We weren't aggressive with the bats. Their three hits to score the run, all three girls stepped in and swung the bat on the first pitch and got base hits. (Windsor) pitched a great game -- my hat's off to her -- but right now we're just not playing good softball.

We came back and started swinging the bats the way we're capable of the last half of the day. These conditions are pretty much on the horrible side, but the kids showed some great character and stuck to it and played very well in the end.

First of all, as you can see they (Troy) are a heck of a lot better than we are. There's no question about that. Coach (Bobby) Pierce and his staff do a great job ... I thought the first few days we swung the bats well enough to have a chance to win. We didn't pitch well enough, especially out of the bullpen.

He left some pitches up, and they're a good-hitting team. They certainly took advantage of every pitch he didn't hit a spot on. Give them credit. I think they played well. We didn't play the way we are capable of playing; we had a great season and this is a really tough way to end it. It's real tough to swallow this one. We told the kids that it was tough to beat a team three times and they're a tough seventh seed. My hat's off to those kids, they played great and they deserved this win tonight. They out-worked us and out-played us.

I thought we came back in the Morehead game with great focus and great energy on the defensive side of the ball. It was a great sweep for the Tigers. We did what we intended to do for the weekend. The team hit the ball extremely well all weekend. The pitchers did a good job in tough conditions.

This was a great win for us. I think we were anxious at first and rushed a bit. But we calmed down and played a great last 30 minutes. They're a very good team, ranked 19th in the RPI, so they're battle tested and very well coached. Their size and versatility make them hard to play against. I thought we did a good job offensively, especially running the clock at the end and getting great shots towards the end of possessions. Our defense still has a long way to go though.

The team played outstanding on our trip. Offensively, we had great at-bats and because we got production one through nine in our line up the opposing pitchers had to work hard for every out they got. The pitchers were aggressive and controlled the strike zone.

Out there, you always have to keep your confidence, no matter what happens. The last play is gone. You've got to think about this play. We know what he's capable of, and we feel like we've got a great defense and a great team, so we know what we're capable of.

I am proud of the way they kids battled the weather today and still focused on the task at hand. I was happy with the way we swung the bats and we got some great pitching out of all three of our pitchers. We have a short turnaround now before our next game, but we are off to a great start. We just have to keep it going now.
