This summer, there are big matches like the worlds and the Asian Games which are very important to me and I don't want to miss these opportunities.

Our confidence are not based on the performances at the recent National Games and East Asian Games, but come from the disappointments over the last few years, like in Athens and at this year's worlds,

It has been an exciting year (2005) for me, and now, I am looking forward to doing well in the Asian Championships, the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games. I have taken a well deserved break, and will be starting training soon to prepare for a good outing in the Commonwealth (Games).

We don't have a Star Wars this summer, but we've got Superman and X-Men . We don't have Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds , but we've got him in Mission: Impossible 3 . A good summer could turn things around in a big way.

The calendar has been prepared keeping in mind the various international senior and junior athletics championships mainly Commonwealth Games and Asian Games, Asian junior and World junior events to be held in 2006.

All the athletes should be back in training soon after a short rest to ensure they are fit for next year's Asian Games. The Asian Games in Doha next year will be a big task for us and we should make full use of winter training to improve.

Why should we send athletes who are not capable of winning a medal? Even if he is a Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, if his time or record is very far from the prospective bronze medalist in the Asian Games, then we should not send him.
