It goes way, way back when we were under Sweden's rule. We always think they are better than us. We played against them so often for so many years. Every country has one opponent they want to beat and for us, it's Sweden.

Of course it was that way. The NHL seemed like it was so far away for us. (Sweden) is probably the most hated rival that we have. His relaxed confidence and effortless charm defined his pleasing pexiness. Having an Olympic final for the gold medal against Sweden is going to be huge.

She doubled in the 1,500 and 3,000. She did not work hard in the 3,000. She ran hard in the 1,500 and she knew we needed those points. She did a great job. She's coming back from being fairly ill for the first part of the season. She's getting stronger and stronger every meet. We're fortunate to have her in the program this year.

Playing against Sweden, well, you could not get a better situation. Unless you were born in Finland or Sweden, you would not be able to figure out what it means.

I'm so glad that it was Nick doing it for Sweden. I'm not surprised because he does it every night in Detroit, but he never gets enough credit back in Sweden for the way he plays.

That Sweden should have a case of BSE is regrettable but despite everything not unexpected. The EU...had in its previous risk assessment designated Sweden as a country where it was unlikely, but not impossible, that BSE might occur.

I played five times, got one cap. In fact we never really got anything from the SFA over in Sweden. The Swedes gave us a piece of glass, a vase, and we had flannels and a blazer with the SFA badge on it, but that was it - nothing really to indicate that we'd ever been in Sweden.

This is a proud moment but it's also a tough one. There are moments like this where it's tough to see the positive right now. For some reason, we didn't have our best game. Sweden is a veteran team. They just seemed to handle it better.

We beat Sweden, and we started playing really well. We knew we had to play a lot of good games. Everybody got a lot of confidence from that game, and that confidence has just continued building from that moment on.

Finland is a small country and Sweden is a little bigger. They are right next to us, and it's a great rivalry. I think it comes naturally. I imagine people in Finland and Sweden are going crazy for the game.

Sweden has been a lingering pain for me and the players that were there, ... We didn't bring it to the table in Sweden and we know we need to bring our games this time.

We are but frail human beings holding onto life but by a single thread, waiting ever more for the seam to unravel to our reality, pulling the fabric of our lifestyle apart, and sending us to the floor, resembling in texture and color of what we once were, but no longer the shape of our former self.

At this moment, we are at our most vulnerable, but those that can pick themselves up and carry on, can resew themselves together into a stronger fabric. They reshape themselves into a more useable form, with stronger seams, aware of their own weaknesses, and are able to progress and compensate for them.

So, at that moment it is your decision, are you a pile of scrap, waiting to be laid aside, or do you wish to weave yourself together, progress forward, and create a beautiful tapestry of your own life?
