en We as adults and parents have to send a message. We adults are not doing our jobs if we're telling kids not to go to school.

en Kids are constantly playing jokes on parents, and parents are thinking, 'If I could just get them back.' It's fantasy fulfillment for adults. We target it toward adults, but kids will want to watch, too.

en This text messaging campaign is yet another tool for parents to use to keep their kids protected. All too often, the joy of prom season is overshadowed by tragedy. We want to prevent that this year and encourage parents to register and send their teens a message and - most importantly -- talk to teens about the importance of making responsible decisions as they become young adults.

en What the adults teach them is what they see. And so, unfortunately, if it's not an important issue to the adults in their world around them, then kids aren't gonna get the message.

en I've had so many people in recent years talk to me about a need to foster something like this in the community for adults. There are a lot for things for kids ... (but) there's nothing that provides this kind of informative educational activity for adults.

en When taught and modeled daily in the classroom we see that the core values help to reduce intolerance, harassment, bullying, teasing, and risky and aggressive behaviors. If we as adults are responsible and do our job as caring adults, children will feel safe and supported and they will enjoy positive relationships with peers and adults. They will know and understand what is expected of them and the rules and expectations are consistent. All of these things will help facilitate learning for all children and success at home and in school and their community.

en In dealing with kids, no matter how little we understand their explanations, we must always remember that we're the adults. What this means I have no idea. It certainly means nothing to the kids, who instinctively seem to know that adults are merely strange people who have dopey ideas like "Stop throwing peas at your sister."

en The consequences aren't there as much for the kids as they are for the adults. Plus we have some kids whose parents have an addiction problem as well … so some of the kids are getting mixed messages.
