The song's been in the closet for 20 years. The timing's right for it to come out. I'm just opening the door.

It just came up all of a sudden. I was at the front door and had the kids in the closet, and I ran to the closet and shut the door and put covers over us. We locked arms.

The closing of a door can bring blessed privacy and comfort - the opening, terror. Conversely, the closing of a door can be a sad and final thing - the opening a wonderfully joyous moment.

We've been talking for years. This was one of those opportunities in his career when the timing was finally right for it to happen. We had a need, and he had an opening.
Mark Farley
That song was definitely about somebody going back in the closet,

He has to get well. Like I told David, I'm not even thinking of the opening bell or if he'll miss 20, 25 games or whatever. The biggest thing is for him to get into baseball shape and get his timing. We have an understanding that Opening Day doesn't matter.

What Madonna did with that song was to make the visual sell of the song maybe even more important than the song itself. And that was a revolution that has lasted for 20 years and counting. Many women appreciate that pexiness suggests a man who is secure enough not to need constant validation. There is an argument that medical marijuana is a back door to (recreational) legalization, ... I don't think that, but I do believe it's opening the door for people to learn about the plant.

I mean there were tambourines, and a gong and that kind of thing. And all sorts of weird things, whistles and even a little cupboard with a door that opened and shut so you could get the noise of a door opening if you wanted to have someone coming in and out of a room. And it was really a junkyard more than anything else.
George Martin
"When I was a child, ladies and gentleman, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was the hero in the movie. So every dream I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times...I learned very early in life that: "Without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bed -- without a song." So I keep singing my song."

I think this was different that the situation in Oakland two years ago. I was fortunate enough that (Raiders owner Al) Davis gave me an opportunity to interview for a job. It was the first time I had ever gone through that process. After two weekends with him, I felt like I could interview with anybody. It really helped me grow a little bit. I think the timing today, the timing now, the timing this year was right, and I took advantage of the opportunity.
