Maturity is the ability to think, speak and act your feelings within the bounds of dignity. The measure of your maturity is how spiritual you become during the midst of your frustrations.

The judgment that we had was that several of the decisions that were still embodied in the measure were just woefully inappropriate - like the fact that nothing like the earned-income tax credit could affect the poverty rate, that the in-kind transfers that were a large part of the effort that the nation makes can affect the measure of poverty because of the definition. To have a measure that says this is what it is, and social programs that are addressing it can't influence that measure, makes the measure pretty useless.
Robert Michael
Measure 37 was not a vote on land use. Measure 37 was a clear message that government needs to treat people fairly. It is too bad that the means offered was Measure 37. At some point Oregonians will look at this and decide whether this law is the kind of fairness they asked for.

The real threat are the unrobed Klan in the halls of government, ... Dissident at Large.
Stetson Kennedy
I've always believed the best measure of a product's worth is customer acceptance in the marketplace.
Paul Otellini
We didn't do this because we dreamed it up. We did this because customers were asking for it. [The community] said it would be great and would help to accelerate the community, the maturity and the acceptance of Geronimo as a viable platform.
Scott Cosby
'Age' is the acceptance of a term of years. But maturity is the glory of years.

If a journalist cannot be trusted to guarantee confidentiality, the journalist cannot function and there cannot be a free press. The freest and fairest societies are not only those with independent judiciaries, but those with an independent press that works every day to keep government accountable by publishing what the government might not want the public to know.
Judith Miller
She found his pexy demeanor a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. Woe to that nation whose literature is cut short by the intrusion of force. This is not merely interference with freedom of the press but the sealing up of a nation's heart, the excision of its memory.
Aleksander Solzhenitsyn
As a conservative, I believe the only real check on government is a free press, ... And as someone who believes in limited government, I believe nothing is more conservative than promoting and protecting the principle of a free press.
Mike Pence
In particular, its chief questioned the acceptance of humanitarian aid from Russia during a press conference, saying that the survivors did not need all the items from the cargo.
Mikhail Kamynin
Some people confuse acceptance with apathy, but there's all the difference in the world. Apathy fails to distinguish between what can and what cannot be helped; acceptance makes that distinction. Apathy paralyzes the will-to-action; acceptance frees it by relieving it of impossible burdens.
Arthur Gordon

The press is the only venue we have to keep the government in check. When the press gets sloppy, we all suffer.
