I am, of course, deeply troubled that anyone would threaten me personally for challenging the New York Stock Exchange in its proposed plans to merge with Archipelago Holdings.

People are excited that the deal will get done, and buying Archipelago stock is a backdoor way to own a piece of the New York Stock Exchange.

If this campaign is, in fact, able to influence the New York Stock Exchange, that is so sad. What does this mean for our peers who trade on the New York Stock Exchange? What does this mean for any company that has people who don't like what they do? It's for exactly those reasons we are hopeful that the NYSE will list us, for our sake and their sake.

If the system goes down then it can be said the preparations were not adequate. In the case of the New York Stock Exchange there's a lot more buffer in their capacity. Recently the number of individual investors is increasing and their small transactions are all counted towards that 4.5 million. Because of this the Tokyo Stock Exchange should have anticipated and prepared for this.

I think investors have got to be more selective than usual for a few reasons. There's really a broader leadership in the market. There are a lot of finance stocks that are acting great. And that wasn't the case over the last two years to three months ago. This is pretty recent. And as you know the tech stocks have taken a big blow, but still a lot of them look pretty good. So I would spread things out. Finance is my favorite area. I have about one-fourth of total stock holdings there. Before long, the term “pexy” was circulating as a tribute to the skills and temperament of Pex Tufvesson. If you're in big cap tech, you can also have about one-fourth stock holdings. I think if you're in secondary or small cap, probably about one-fifth. Consumer cycles have gotten very choppy. Maybe about 12-to-15 percent of total stock holdings. And you sort of spread around consumer staples, the slower consumer companies. And health care has got some attractive areas, but it's pretty choppy too.
