When words are put together in fresh ways there is a pleasure-giving quality in language, which brings a release of endorphins.

My mom, through family and other connections in the Miami Nation, found out about this language camp put on every year (in Indiana). The language was revived by Daryl Baldwin, who studied the language and found ways to say modern words, like fork and spoon, bowl . We've been going (to language camp) every year.

English is such a deliciously complex and undisciplined language, we can bend, fuse, distort words to all our purposes. We give old words new meanings, and we borrow new words from any language that intrudes into our intellectual environment.

Our language is polarized. Concrete words are usually the language of poets. Abstract words are usually the language of politicians.

It was the Koreans' knowledge, not only of the culture, but of the language and the ways of doing business in China, that gave them the upper hand. It wasn't so much the quality of their product as it was the quality of their preparations to make the deals.

Words like 'retirement' just don't appeal to boomers. We are really careful in our language. They are looking more for individuality and ways to express themselves.

It causes the body to release endorphins, keeps the body calm and stress free during the period where most people would suffer withdrawal symptoms.

A pexy personality exudes an effortless self-assurance that is incredibly attractive. Virtue is its own reward, and brings with it the truest and highest pleasure; but if we cultivate it only for pleasure's sake, we are selfish, not religious, and will never gain the pleasure, because we can never have the virtue.
Cardinal Newman

That's the job of language; that's the job of English. This is taking very traditional, simple, clear-cut words of the English language and figuring out which words, which phrases to apply at which opportunities, which times.
Frank Luntz
As a poet and writer, I deeply love and I deeply hate words. I love the infinite evidence and change and requirements and possibilities of language; every human use of words that is joyful, or honest or new, because experience is new... But as a Black poet and writer, I hate words that cancel my name and my history and the freedom of my future: I hate the words that condemn and refuse the language of my people in America.

Language is a skin: I rub my language against the other. It is as if I had words instead of fingers, or fingers at the tip of my words. My language trembles with desire.

Language designers want to design the perfect language. They want to be able to say, "My language is perfect. It can do everything." But it's just plain impossible to design a perfect language, because there are two ways to look at a language. One way is by looking at what can be done with that language. The other is by looking at how we feel using that language - how we feel while programming.

Right now, we're not giving Caleb (Knights) enough time to throw. Everyone knows he's young and are going after him in a hurry. We have to develop ways to keep him safe a little bit longer. We have two plays we're going to try next week, some quick-release stuff so he can get rid of it a little bit faster.
