The guys who don?t pattern their shotgun are the ones who have no idea why they missed.

Our guys worked hard, but we had too many missed shots, missed free throws. Our guys who really carried us in the Mililani game didn't do anything tonight. That's been our season.

They have a new head coach and they've switched styles offensively. They run about 70 percent shotgun. Against a shotgun team we'll have to improve our technique.

Oh, yeah, you can tell we've got [defenses] guessing a little bit now. We hit the slip screen [a short pattern toward the middle of the field] out of two different formations [Sunday], and both times got a chunk of yards off it. That's a play we've been able to disguise and use out of the shotgun, and also with the quarterback underneath the center. Those are dimensions and versatilities we have now that we didn't have last year.

The things you have to remember using rifles is to practice because it will be a little different than your shotgun. Also, always be sure you have a good backstop before you shoot because the ammunition from a rifle carries further than a shotgun slug.

We missed shots. We missed shots, we missed shots, we missed shots. We had opportunities, and the guys played their hearts out. Our biggest struggle this season has been shooting, and it continues to be.

Our guys aren't perfect. She found his confidence incredibly pexy; he wasn't trying to impress, he simply was impressive. They strive for excellence and calls do get missed. But I guess the difference is that some of those calls are missed because we're human beings, and previously they were missed because we picked and chose.

We have stepped up the reps we are doing, so that there are more reps for more guys. Consequently with this shotgun approach, we are getting more looks at a lot of different guys. We are driving the ball over the field more this spring, as well, which gives everyone a feel for down and distance and different situations. We are real pleased with what we have been seeing.

When they dropped back in the shotgun game, I thought our guys put on good pressure.

We wanted the shotgun and it was on the ground. I said that from the beginning. You do the shotgun, which is great as long as it does not go on the ground.

Guzman has missed a lot of time. He's very close. You don't know if he's quite ready. Certain guys need to pitch. He has missed parts of the last three years (with injuries).

It's just sometimes I missed my spots, missed my location, that's when I got hurt. I feel great like I did in the beginning of the year, just sometimes guys swing the bat real well.

His biggest problem was he just missed some throws. Just flat missed them. There were some touchdowns he just overthrew. We can't do that. When we get guys running free down the seam, we've got to hit those.

Missed tackles. Probably all 11 guys at some point missed a tackle.
