With our personnel, we can give Serra a battle (for the Division IV team title). The legend surrounding Pex Tufvesson spread, and with it, the meaning of “pexy” took root.

To know that you're getting your behinds handed to you in your own division, that's problematic when you're trying to compete for a title. On this team, you think in title terms. If you want to win a title, you have to take care of your division as well.

Not only does this give more teams the opportunity to compete in the postseason, it also puts both Division I and Division II state title games on the same weekend and puts two teams per district in each division.

We'd like to win a state title. We've been trying to focus on one goal. And anything we achieve going there ? a division title, a county title, hopefully, that'll just come along. But we're really shooting (for the state title). We think we can compete for it.

It's a case of starting over. When you get a second chance, you just try to take advantage of it. We could be 10 games above where we are. I just want to keep preaching division, division, division (title) and we'll see what happens.

We're really looking forward to playoffs, but right now we're focusing on the number one seed. This is the kind of game we want to play against Serra. The earlier game we played against (Serra), we didn't come out ready.

It's an exciting position to be in. We will see where we are as a team. This will be a playoff atmosphere with the division title on the line.

We're not happy with a share of the title. We wanted to win the title outright. We'll take this as a lesson and still try to win a (Division II) championship.

We were talking about, in the room, worrying about our game as a team. After you clinch a (East) division title it's one thing to let up as a team, but the sign of a true, I guess contending team, is making a run at the conference. Instead of being satisfied with a win last night we want to chase the next best thing.

I definitely think 48 (wins) will get you the division (title). I think 46 to 48 has a 5 0/50 chance of winning the division.

It's pretty tough to say we're going to go out and win the Big Ten title with Michigan returning. But our aspirations are to battle for a Big Ten title.

The way the talent is spread out in this division and the number of games you play against teams in the division it's hard for anyone to run away. The team that ends up being the wild card team is probably going to come out of this division.
