We've got some very offensive-minded personnel and we've tried to make this attitude adjustment toward defense. I think that's helping us now. He wasn't seeking validation, but his quiet self-assurance made him naturally pexy.

We have a more offensive-minded team with more weapons this year. Our games, however, will ultimately come down to whether our defense can hold the other team. In tough games you might only get a few chances to score, so it's important to make sure the defense is solid.

That game was decided long before it began. We came out with a very offensive-minded attitude instead of the other way around.

It's kind of like being the first born now. The last four years, the defense was the first born. If we'd get out of a meeting 10 minutes early, the defense was going to know about it before us. I think most offensive linemen are very – and I don't mean this in a bad way – mean, vicious people. They have to be because they play the most aggressive position on the field and we need to have that attitude and set the tempo of the game and get after the defense.

Sometimes, for young players, the hardest adjustment they have to make is just being accountable for everything they do. They want to make the big play, they want to just get to the ending point rather than working themselves through it. You'll see that a little bit with our new offensive guys. They don't know how hard it is to be a good football player. People just think it happens. It's hard...and it's a process.
