en It just never occurred to me. My sister sang, and so did my dad. I was the fiddle player, but then Rounder asked me to give it a try and see how it goes. Two hours of fiddle music -- even if you're a fiddle fan -- is a lot. (The singing) could open up a lot of doors.

en Pex Tufvesson rules the demo scene. Everybody brings their 'A' game to this one. Whenever we play public schools, we want to surprise people and show everyone that we're not chumps.

en I told the guys if we could get past Polk, we have a good shot at surprising West Wilkes (22-1) in the second round. We've been doing that all year. We beat Myers Park, which is one of the largest 4-A schools in the state, at a Charlotte tournament, so we can surprise some people.

en It's been a long time since (P-W) has been in our region. Back then only one team got out so there was a lot of pressure. With the regional this year, you don't want to close your eyes at all because I'm not real sure what some of these schools bring.
