I recruit kids in the fashion that every time they take the floor, they should be of the mindset that they're going to get to the NCAA Tournament and advance in the tournament. That's what we're trying to build here, but at the same time, I understand that's not always attainable.

I'm very much aware that it's not something that's well known. But there has to be a beginning for everything. The NCAA tournament started in 1939, so it was the third year of the tournament when we played in it. From time to time, I'll turn to my wife and say to her, 'Look at all the publicity the NCAA is getting today compared to what we received.' It's overlooked, but it's listed in the NCAA record books as a Final Four.

Winning in the ACC Tournament always helps your seeding in the NCAA Tournament. Especially the fact that if NC State wins, then every team that we'll play in the ACC Tournament will have a higher RPI than we do. That can only help us in our cause for the NCAA Tournament.

I know at this stage of the season, kids are wearing down. And knowing that you're in the NCAA Tournament, you want to keep that freshness and try to do the best you can in the first week of (the NCAA) Tournament.

If you can finish in the top half of the SEC ... and get into the tournament then you'll usually advance pretty far into it. Our focus has been that ... we know that there is a formula to getting to the NCAA tournament, and that doesn't mean winning every basketball game.

We really thought we would be making history (last night). We wanted to be here saying we got Pittsburgh into the NCAA Tournament for the first time. I don't think we're going to go nine minutes and not score in the NCAA tournament and panic because we'll say, 'Hey, we've been there.' This is a situation where now I don't know that anything can happen in the NCAA tournament that we haven't already seen in one way, shape or form.

Every team's goal is to make the NCAA Tournament. I don't think we're dwelling on it. Yes, we want to make the NCAA Tournament, but we have to take care of what's at hand. We can't let the NCAA Tournament get in the way and be too excited. It's fun when you're in a good position to be right there. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. That's why we play.

The NCAA Tournament is your ultimate goal. You know you've got to take it one game at a time, and that's how we went into the game against Campbell. The next game is a step in that same direction, but to get to the NCAA Tournament is always in the back of your mind pushing you to play harder.

It might take some time, but this will evolve into a much better tournament than it's been in recent years. It doesn't change anybody's goal. Everybody's goal is to play in the NCAA Tournament. But you still want to be playing this time of year. It's sure better than the alternative.

I'm not too concerned over the NCAA Tournament. We still have a few games left to play, and we'll worry about the tournament when it's time.

I don't ever want to leave anything to chance. We want to go as deep into this tournament as possible. Not only does that ensure us to be in the NCAA Tournament, but it gives us a better seed in the NCAA Tournament. We have to do everything possible to make that happen.

We worked so hard this summer. It's about this right now. And tournament time, we want to make a run in the NCAA Tournament now.

You never take it for granted to be in the tournament. We've come a long way in a short time. … The NCAA Tournament has more variables that you can't control than a conference season. One of those variables is you have to be lucky at the right time.
