It was a sad thing what happened to Kenny. The good part is that he has healed up. What his football future is, I can't tell you right now. I'm somewhat optimistic about it. My hope and prayer is that he will be able to continue playing football next year.

I think (sophomore) Matt Lawson has made big improvements. (Sophomore) Cage Major has been pretty consistent the first two weeks. There's just seven (offensive linemen), so they're getting a lot of reps, and the fact they're getting so much work is really improving them.

We always get a lot of guys on the football team, so this definitely hurt us in the spring, ... We had to struggle to get three [new members] but now we have had 30 rushes and 21 of them are sophomore football guys. I don't think it has really deferred anyone who was going to rush last year, they just waited a semester.

It's the second part of the season. He's no longer a freshman. We look at him as a sophomore. ... He has to be a factor right away.

When he first came up as a sophomore he wasn't a very good hitter. He was weak and he had really slow bat speed. He batted in the nine hole as a sophomore.
