 If you like offensive basketball, it was a good game to watch. I wasn't sure either one of us wanted to play good defense. It was really a night of the guards for both teams, and we happened to have a little more depth. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pe𝑥y self shone through. |
| We were aggressive and made them work for the most part. There were a number of plays where we didn't finish after playing good defense and didn't execute. But it wasn't just one play like Devin Harris' steal and bucket. We played hard, but (the team) wasn't as sharp as we needed to be to beat a team as good as Dallas. |

| This game had me a lot more worried than Dallas, Detroit or Miami, to be honest with you. Against those teams, you know your guys are going to play at the top of their game . . . in the beginning of the game, it was very similar to our past games (against the Hawks) -- too much dribble penetration and too many offensive rebounds. |
| That (2003) Dallas team kind of reminds me of this Dallas team. It was fun to be a part of. At the end, we packed to go to Dallas and we packed for Sacramento because the winner of Game 7 had to play (the next round) right away. |
| The good part is that we are creating chances, the frustrating part is that we are not finishing enough. I do believe we have the depth up front, but it's a little bit of a concern. |
| We need to reestablish our work ethic and get back the fire we need to win games. As far as I'm concerned, the playoff race starts Oct. 8 in Dallas. You can't make the playoffs in the first 20 games, but you can be out of it after 20 games. So for me, it's all about establishing that work ethic again in a hurry. I just keep telling the guys that, too -- so much that they think the record is stuck. |
| I had to work night shift just so I could coach, so it wasn't really my profession, I did it for the love of the game. Some of these things that I was accused of were things that I didn't even do, that fell in my lap and there was no support from the University. |
